New head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, replacing Haniye

Shows how incompetent Israel is. They killed a moderate only to be replaced with someone far more radical and they have to negotiate with him. They did the same with Hezbollah by killing Musawi only to have Nasrallah take over. Knowing Sinwar he will negotiate harsh terms and if Israel refuses he is gladly going to make the war in Gaza last longer to weaken Israel. Sinwar is a cunning man and has studied the Israelis closely in his time in Israeli prison.

Israel is actively seeking total war with Hezbollah and Iran, so killing a moderate is exactly what they would do to bury any chance of negotiation from moderates from both sides.

With how rabid the entire Israeli society has became they vastly overestimated IDF's strength and their chance of winning, Netanyahu and co is betting everything on this one war to solve all their problem

The Israelis are certain they can pull the West into this war even if the latter does not want to. And tbh, as much as the US & vassals are trying not to, in the end they will be forced to because 1) the Zionist influence is too strong, and 2) the West will not allow the Israel project to fail.

The best way to achieve this for Israel is to make a lot enemies quickly and have them strike Western assets. Induce chaos in the region, feed the fire = more Western involvement. Right now, it is only a few groups in the region who are targeting Western assets: Yemenis and some militias in Iraq and Syria. Most of the regional groups are sitting idle, but for how long is the real question. I think it is only a matter of time that the region explodes with active resistance from all or most groups. The common man is raging with fury, especially at their government's ineptitude; this will funnel them into resistance groups.

Like I wrote couple page ago, this new commander had some disagreement with the previous one. The previous one is an opportunist, but this one seems much more hardened ideologically. This is perplexing, because it might strengthen Hamas instead of weakening. I don't think Israeli intelligence is stupid. They most likely know what they are doing. Either:

1. I was wrong about who is more ideologically hardened.
2. I was right, and Israel did it on purpose. If this is the case, then Israel want Hamas to keep fighting, for some reason.

My feeling tells me US will get itself very involved after election. Israel must be very sure of its plan will succeed.

2. Doesn't exactly make sense because Hamas will fight anyways, until the war is over, which it doesn't show signs of.

Israel just needed to take the wins it can get, especially after Iranians bombed them and they didn't respond. And an opportunity showed itself so they didn't think too much further than that. Or even some of Sinwar's ppl/Iranian Shia who believe they can get an easier to control Hamas Leader took contact with Israel and offered them an opportunity without elaborating too much into why.

So after bombarding the audience with "Iran is going to attack by Monday, then by Wednesday", now US is all "Iran is reconsidering". In other words, Apartheid & Co. has no idea wtf Iran intends to do. US/Israel was probably hoping that Iran retaliates quickly while everyone is on alert. Now they certainly don't know when the retaliation will come, or even how. Well played by Iran, imo.

This reminds me of "Munich". Artistic values and ideological chest-thumping aside, there's a scene where Eric Bana's character talks to his handler and asks "Why do we keep targeting Palestinian leaders? Every time we kill one, they get replaced by worse". I guess nothing's changed.

It could actually be that Iran is hearing that Israel could retaliate hard taking out refineries, oil depots and other strategic targets that could make the masses desperate for a change...

Or they are making sure they got everything in order for a possible escalation and making sure everything is ready to go.
