Israeli and American reports: Israel attacked targets in Iran

Iran said that explosions occurred in the sky of the city of Isfahan, and defensive weapons were activated in the country's atmosphere, while Israeli and American reports spoke of Israel launching a strike inside Iran.

After a period of ambiguity, the Iranian Mehr Agency attributed the sounds of explosions to the air defense shooting down three small drones in the airspace of Isfahan at dawn on Friday. This was also issued by Iranian television, which said that the sounds of explosions in several areas resulted from the air defenses intercepting some small drones.

At the same time, the Iranian Tasnim News Agency confirmed that there were no explosions at any sensitive facility in Tabriz, northwest of the country.

The Israeli attack is not over, infact the real attack is yet to begin, it has to be something big.
The drones were just sent for recon. If this was an Anglerfish then the drones were just the light bulb. The big fish has yet to come out.

Seems todays act/attack has happened with mutual consent to give Israel face saving...

Seems now Iranians are downing playing it & not going to respond ....

Todays episode is very much like a last Iran-Pakistan incident .....

All happened with mutual consent....

Are we reading the same article or what? In the first Twitter link, the article contained this:

An Iranian military security official has revealed exclusively to The Cradle that the US contacted the Islamic Republic, asking the nation to allow Israel "a symbolic strike to save face” following Iran's retaliatory drone and missile barrage this weekend.

“Iran has received messages from mediators to let the regime do a symbolic strike to save face and asked Iran not to retaliate,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed to The Cradle.

He added that Tehran “outright rejected” the proposal, delivered by mediators, and reiterated warnings that any Israeli attack on Iranian soil would be met with a decisive and immediate response.

The reply was delivered directly to the Swiss envoy in Tehran by officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and not the foreign ministry. According to The Cradle's source, the decision for the IRGC to reply directly was meant “to send a strong warning to the US.”

“Iran successfully embarrassed all of the integrated radar network and anti-missile systems of the US and the [Israeli] regime. The US even activated its parked satellites over the region to do maximum protection and failed miserably,” the Iranian military official added.

Ok Israeli government just has acknowledged it was indeed Israel's failed drone attack they claim they went after Drone factory in Esfahan because there the Shahed drones were made to attack Israel. What a failure even Israeli media knows it was a failure, no damage done and all drones shot down.

Well this was unexpectedly weak from Israel, and it would have been far less humiliating to not have bothered. Because even if Iran doesn’t strike back, this weak source attempt won’t remotely satisfy Israeli internal demands for a powerful response.

Seems like maybe Israel was trying to bait Iran into overreaching by triggering a big response to its weak poke as a means to try and regain some moral high ground and force America to help.

But once again they seemed to have been outplayed by Iran, who held back and didn’t launch the overwhelming counterattack they threatened immediately and can potentially get away without needing to respond by claiming the Israeli attack failed and caused no damage so there isn’t a need to respond tit-for-tat. If that’s how it goes that it would be a total inversion of the relative positions between Israel and Iran from before this all started, where Israel has now become the side that gets smacked with impunity and can’t effectively respond. It would be impossible for Israel to accept that.

Maybe that is BiBi’s play, to do a symbolic limited strike back, let the reality of what that means settle in, and wait for the rest of Israel to come to him saying that won’t do and demand more action so he can go back to Biden and say this is not his demand, but the demand of all Israelis. Even if BiBi leaves office immediately the demand for retaliation and restoring the previous relative positions between Israel and Iran will be the same.

So they responded to ~300 drones and missiles with 3 small drones, which may have been shot down? That makes Israel look rather weak. Iran will probably not respond directly then, but Hezbollah might

Can we verify it is indeed just small drones (like how small? Shahed small or DJI small)? I find it hard to believe unless it is still ongoing

That seriously cannot be it, there has to be more, otherwise, Israel’s status as Americas unsinkable carrier in the Middle East would ultimately be an empty statement.
This is regrettably the case. If more attacks occur, Iran will respond more forcefully, sparking a full-fledged conflict that the US doesn't want right now even though Netanyahu would welcome it.
