Debunked in this thread. The website Jerusalem Post’s article relies on has no link to the Saudi government nor the Saudi family.

Iraq doesn’t have air defense.
Just to provide a background on this, the Jerusalem Post cited a story from the website called houseofsaud.com . However, upon further inspection of the site, I noticed that there weren’t endorsements from the royal family nor did it say that it was run by a PR team of the royal family. This twitter thread provided more context to this unusual site:

It's interesting, but until I read Arnaud's thread I literally could not find any link to the original sources. I went from Times of Israel to WSJ, to another WSJ article and the trail went cold.

KSA has seemingly denied it at this point so it's all water under the bridge, but still.

The lack of clear sourcing is just atrocious because even if you follow all the links, it doesn't tell you where they got the information from. Both articles have been edited as of now, which is even more annoying.

Russians have been dangling that lollipop for at least a couple of decades. Iranians will be the biggest fools to continue to rely on these closet Zionist Russians.
Russia sold Iran the S-300 and Tor back when they still weren't under sanctions. Iran was sanctioned. It is also pretty obvious that the Iranian Karrar tank has likely been made with Russian help. Russia sold Iran the Rezonans OTH radar. Only fairly close Russian allies like Algeria and Egypt got it before. What makes you think that they won't deliver these aircraft to Iran? Especially now that Russia is sanctioned to hell and kingdom come.

Russia right now is giving priority with regards to aircraft deliveries to their own air force given the conflict with Ukraine. But I am fairly sure they will deliver these combat aircraft to Iran eventually. If they haven't already started deliveries.

Where can they go to acquire those capabilities, China? Until the collective west impose total sanction the Chinese will not sell any weapon to Iran.

Previous Chinese reservations were down to three principle concerns.

Firstly, Iran and Saudi Arab were regional enemies, and if forced to choose between them, China chooses SA.

Secondly, China would not break UN sanctions to sell arms to Iran.

Thirdly, China has Israeli interests to consider.

But now none of those concerns remain.

I would add that China doesn't want an open breach with the USA, which is what would happen if large amounts of Chinese weapons were sold to Iran.

Interesting ...

Russian arms maker invited a delegation of Iranians to a VIP shopping tour of its weapons factories.

Last March, a Russian arms maker invited a delegation of Iranians to a VIP shopping tour of its weapons factories. The 17 visitors were treated to lunches and cultural shows and, on the final day, toured a plant that makes products long coveted by Tehran: advanced Russian air defense systems for shooting down enemy planes.

The factory, NPP Start, in the city of Yekaterinburg, is under U.S. sanctions for supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine. Among its wares are mobile launchers and other components for antiaircraft batteries — including Russia’s S-400, which military analysts assess to be capable of detecting and destroying stealth fighter jets flown by Israel and the United States.

The performance of the F-35A is enough to reach the Iranian border and back, but it is not possible to penetrate Iranian territory. It is necessary to refuel over Iraq. There is information that the Iranians have developed external tanks for their F-35s but there has not yet been proof that they are operational. They would give some extra breathing room to fighters that can carry 5000 pounds of bombs in their internal compartments.

Israel's possible responses:
1 - conventional air strike with mid-air refueling over Iraq
2 - low-cost suicide drone swarm attack
Ex: Harop in standalone mode
3- Jericho II ballistic missile attack
4 - long-range air strike using Popeye Turbo air-launched subsonic cruise missiles from Jordan

By the way, a curiosity here:

Report after report of F-35 incursions into Iranian airspace apparently undetected. The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida reported in March that Israel flew F-35s at high altitudes over Syria and Iraq undetected in Iranian airspace on a reconnaissance mission over Bandar Abbas, Isfahan and Shiraz.

Although experts have dismissed the likelihood of Israel conducting high-risk missions at this time, this is a plausible scenario for the future. After all, Israel has carried out many audacious espionage and sabotage operations in Iran. I believe this is probably true because Israel will have to practice rehearsal before attacking Iranian nuclear facilities.

To be even more dramatic here, in this whole story, the Iranian general was fired for hiding the fact that the IDF flew over his country.

Yet U.S. is selling weapons to Taiwan, Japan, opening bases in Philippines, enacting global sanctions, weakening Russia so it can focus on China. It’s already happening.

China just doesn’t have good options in terms of response.

This is way, way, more important than that little fake article from the Jerusalem Post, and history in the making, however, they would never report something like this in the West, but would rather delude themselves on how super-duper powerful, important, and "indispensable" they are still in 2024, and how countries like Saudi Arabia are still their lapdogs in 2024, despite endless slaps in the face to them from Saudis, despite them losing every lapdog there in the Middle East beside Jordan and Israel already. In reality, Iran is the biggest military power, and China is the biggest power overall geopolitically/economically in that region. This guy going ham recently, becoming one of my favorite Twitter profiles.
