The anti-Zionist Jewish scholar Norman Finkelstein actually made an interesting assessment about the situation, referencing the horrors his family faced during the Holocaust in which most of them were executed. He said along the lines of: if you are cornered into such a situation (i.e. Gazan life in general), being born and raised in that horror show, your idea of civility, rules of engagement, etc., go out the window; you simply don't have an opportunity to explore and contemplate these ideas because your daily concern is staying alive for the moment.

Most Muslims, afaik, make a notable distinction between Jews and Zionists. The anger in revenge may be difficult to control for the Arabs in particular but the religion of Islam may prevent it because most Arabs are still conservative and Islam prohibits these types of excesses and revenge.

Most of the time the best argument to not do bad things is not because it is morally wrong but because it is plain stupid. A wiser Israel should see that US protection won't last forever, it may not even last this decade, and their neighbors are not going away in a thousand years.

I wish they'd had figure out a way out of this, a two state solution, a reconciliation with the arabs.... At this point I'm afraid Israel's fate is sealed, history tends to not have happy endings and in this case it may be extra-unhappy

So far. If the Israelis just gone about their genocide professionally and drive all the Palestinians into the Sinai desert to die, the western MSM would just spin it as a tragic natural disaster and move on.

But increasingly the Israelis are going out of their way to commit ever more depraved and frankly psychotic acts of such needless wonton cruelty and barbarism on top of the ongoing genocide that even the MSM is struggling to whitewash it all enough to fool its own population. So ironically, the Israelis are the most likely to break the world’s current dithering and for one of the big powers to say, fuck it, that’s enough. If it won’t be America, then god help the Israelis, because almost no one else on earth will after what they have done.

There is now blood between China and Israel, and Israel is in a particularly vulnerable position being the favourite pet of America. If Israel unite the Muslim and Arab worlds enough in fury, it is entirely possible that China will make a move against Israel to damage and distract America.

For example, if Beijing became convinced that America was prepared to kick of Taiwan Independence to force China into a war before it wants one, Beijing may decide that offence is the best defence and light a match in the ME first and openly support and supply the anti-Israeli alliance in the name of preventing a genocide and dare the Americans to fight a two front war.

This play wasn’t on before, but Israel seems to be desperate to make it not only viable, but attractive to China.

Israel had more than enough chances to live in peace with it's neighbors, but it indulged in atrocities periodically, essentially reminding it's neighbors that it's not looking for peace. Even in the current scenario, where Egypt has peace and some trade relations with Israel, the latter has shown intent to exile the Gazans forcibly into Egyptian territory against Egypt's will. This type of Israeli behavior is not new and most certainly not conducive to peace.

I don't believe Israel is interested in establishing any peace, especially because peace is a major obstacle in their interpretation of the Torah which has promised them land from the Great River (Nile) to the Euphrates and from Kadesh (Lebanon) to Yathrib (Medina); these incremental land grabs are steps towards that goal.

Israel, specifically Netanyahu's government, did more damage to America in a few months than China or Russia in the last 4 years.

Major European and US cities have had record protests. In October, 500,000 people marched on London demanding a cease-fire. More than a million Americans have participated in some kind of protests - likely the largest pro-Palestinian mobilization in US history. Let's not even talk about what's happening at Harvard, Columbia U, etc...

This is the main reason MSM is forced change its tune on Israel. Hamas is actually winning the PR war. And people here think PR doesn't matter.

It’s seems that while the west assumes Taiwan is China’s Achilles heel (it’s not but that’s what Washington thinks), it is safe to say that Israel might just be the USA’s biggest Achilles heel. Not only must the USA keep on sending weapons and billions of dollars to keep the nation alive (really screwing with the U.S. economy due to the increase in debt pushing up inflation at a bad time), but with each month and genocidal action and with every since ceasefire being vetoed by the USA, the more and more damaged diplomatically the USA becomes on the world stage, it is literally destroying any and every relationship in the global south that could possibly rely on in the past.

And even if their are countries in the Middle East that is still towing the US line due to their leaders being tied to US interest, the people are certainly going to hate the US and Israel on ever increasing numbers with no way back. What the US intended for HK to be (a disaster that China cannot counter and where they really intended for it to be a Tiananmen square moment that heavily damages Chinas image), ended up happening to the USA where ever single attempt to justify Israelis action is being meet with greater levels of anger and rage and while no nation is doing anything overtly (while the USA is strong atm) they are certainly doing other things like cutting off US trade links through the Red Sea, US bases in the Middle East getting hit, pushing the ICJ (a U.S. apparatus) to do something with every delay destroying the institution but by bit and most importantly, quickly ditching the US dollar all over the world slowly but surely, damaging the U.S. control on the world economy as a whole which will eventually a lethal deathblow to the US ability to project itself on the world stage and that will end up damaging Israel more then anything else where their life line goes away and it is left to fend for itself
