- I've read five Su-35s were most recently sent to Latakia Air Base (related picture above), and
- Russians now say (РИА: ) the Turkish Air Force is on some high alert level ("orange") allowing pilots to engage intruders at will (I won't go into any play of words here)

attempting to update east-to-Homs situation based on what I now read in Russian Internet, Twitter, and quickly using the map from the above post:
yesterday Government sent reinforcements to counter-attack: probably is at the southern junction (towards ), but didn't repel ISIL from the outer perimeter of the T4 (by the way I've it's the biggest airbase in Syria), while ISIL was unable to break in;
ISIL is in "Sharifah";
T4 is not encircled;
weather worsened:

I now searched east-to-Homs info and since I found none (except for example the pictures of snow etc.), I think by now it's become static: Government in T4, ISIL in Palmyra

On Friday, photos emerged of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Qods Force, in conquered eastern Aleppo, Syria (photos 1, 2). Another photo showed him by the Citadel of Aleppo (photo 3). It was not immediately clear when the photos were taken.
Following rapid advances , pro-Syrian government forces the Old City on Dec. 6, and insurgents by the following day, as reported by major media outlets. Reporting directly to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Soleimani has executed Iranian strategy in Syria since the popular uprisings in 2011. He was the point man who personally with President Vladimir Putin Russia’s military intervention in September 2015, according to unnamed security officials who spoke with Reuters.
After more than five years, Soleimani has succeeded in the fall of Bashar al Assad, protecting Iran’s supply route to Lebanese Hezbollah, and laying siege to Aleppo, Syria’s largest urban area prior to the war. He has mobilized thousands of Iranians, Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, Afghans, and Pakistanis to fight in Syria, forming an international Shiite expeditionary force.

and now what I figured in Twitter, Russian Internet, and what may be incorrectis this:
since then Turks shot their way
through "western part of the bulwark" and reached "Hospital Hill" (which would be around "Main Hospital" below:
) but in the process lost there at least three Leopard 2 tanks to ISIL ATGMs ...
now I'm in the mood, so: the first problem I see is Rebels/Turks still hasn't encircled Al-Bab, which (in addition to tactical consequences) means ISIL may simply leave

now I read in Twitter the Turks at/around Al-Bab reportedly had tactical issues ... (tens KIA due to VBIEDs; a captured by ISIL ... I have no way to verify, but if those news are true, they'll likely appear in the blogs I follow etc.)Friday at 9:44 PM

I am sure that is deliberate and what the Turks and their sponsored rebels would prefer IS do, yield to them but go fight others. Everyone is trying to corral IS to fight everyone else.
