I think Government now should leave the whole protrusion, shouldn't send the reinforcements (which reportedly have been scrambled) into it, but spread them to
  1. stiffen the defense of

  2. block the exit from it towards Homs:

as for so called T4 Airbase

I know it is too early to claim the victory, but I can not stop but congratulate the Syria Arab Army, the Syrian people, the government of Syrian Arab Republic and president Bashar al-Assad and all people and countries that support Syria.

Four years is just too long to bare for the people of Syria and to a larger extant the whole region. Four years the wahhabism terrorists and its cohorts have done too much damage to humanity. Four years is too long for the world to allow these dirty bags and its cheerleaders to run the show.

With the victory of Aleppo and SAA's coming victory, I hope we are going to a turning point for the world. A point after which, voice of the silenced mass, the oppressed mass can be heard loud and clear. A point after which the clowns of "HR" champion and ideology fanatics have their forehead tattooed with word liar so they will be shamed for ever.

I salute and pray for Syria

Now that Aleppo is in govt hands, the SAA needs to mount an offensive to expand the buffer zone around the city. This would involve pushing north up to (and maybe into?) Al-Bab, and into Idlib province. The so called 'free syria army' is totally on the back foot and won't have adequate manpower to put up big defences on these areas.

Blocking ISIS in Homs also needs to be done. No time to rest at all it seems!

Re Palmyra

Am I alone in wondering how come all three major anti ISIS battle fronts; Al-Bab, Raqqa and Mosul have all ground to halt simultaneously, and to such a degree that ISIS was able to redeploy 5000 of some of its best fighters to East Homs?

Perhaps they got out of Iraq before the net closed? The Shia PMUs were suppose to stop this from happening when they attacked Tel Afar, but I remember there were reports ISIS units were already on the move when the Mosul battle first began.

It is convenient, I have to say, for the Western media that this Palmyra fall has arrived just in time to completely overshadowed Aleppo's liberation to such an extent that they can now largely ignore Aleppo. Perhaps too convenient...as Aleppo in government hands serves no PR purpose for their agenda.

BBC Radio 4 is saying that the cease fire that should enable the Wahhabies to be transported to Idlib has broken down. It is that that civilians are still held as human shields.

Actually Aleppo's fall has allowed Western media to go into overdrive with the "Syrian government slaughters its own people" propaganda. Simultaneously Palmyra's fall allowed the Western media to pursue its propaganda double envelopment with "Syrian government (and allies) can't stand up to religious extremists". Emphasize how "Western forces batter religious extremists (with minimal, no, or no mention of civilian casualties)" to complete the circle with "Syrian government (and allies) are evil and must go"!

Not so fast, the Syrian government definitely needs more prayers, and more combat capacity. The apparent collusion of other factions to corral IS to attack Palmyra shows that the Syrian government's enemies' efforts are coalescing once again. That Palmyra fell so quickly despite signs that Syrian government forces, and even the Russians, meant to stay show that they don't even have sufficient capacity to garrison just the parts of the country they currently control. That means the tide can easily turn against them.

EDIT
now in Twitter I even read a claim Government had lost most recently a roundabout ... using the map from

true or not?? I don't know, but it likely means large-scale fighting has resumed in Aleppo ... (or I spent almost five minutes with a fake :)
