Islamic State attacks Iraqi soldiers in Mosul

"Operation Chammal, carried out against the Islamic state (EI or Daesh) in Iraq and Syria, was marked by an intensive use of the SCALP cruise missile (long-range autonomous conventional cruise system).L’opération Chammal, menée contre l’État islamique (EI ou Daesh) en Irak et en Syrie, aura été marquée par un usage intensif des missiles de croisière SCALP (Système de croisière conventionnel autonome à longue portée).
In an attack of honesty he accuses Saudi Arabia of fighting proxy wars in the Middle East, so including Syria and Yemen. In both wars UK stands on the side of Saudi Arabia!“There are politicians who are twisting and abusing religion and different strains of the same religion in order to further their own political objectives. That’s one of the biggest political problems in the whole region. And the tragedy for me – and that’s why you have these proxy wars being fought the whole time in that area – is that there is not strong enough leadership in the countries themselves.”
The foreign secretary then identified Saudi Arabia and Iran specifically, saying: “That’s why you’ve got the Saudis, Iran, everybody, moving in, and puppeteering and playing proxy wars.”
I said cautios ... I had heard yesterday (not about 'a precision strike' though) Coalition Strikes Mosul Hospital...
should I switch to Mosul now? EDIT cautious report from there:

the source isOn Dec. 6th, Iraqi Security Forces attempted to seize the Al Salem hospital complex from ISIL fighters in the heart of East Mosul. ISIL was using the hospital as a base of operations and command and control headquarters. After seizing the area, the ISF fought off several counterattacks and six VBIEDs the following day before retrograding a short distance, under heavy enemy fire, to strengthen their position.
On Dec. 7th, after Iraqi forces continued to receive heavy and sustained machine gun and rocket propelled grenade fire from ISIL fighters in a building on the hospital complex, they requested immediate support from the Coalition. In support of the Iraqi Security Forces, Coalition aircraft conducted a precision strike on the location to target enemy fighters firing on Iraqi forces.
The Coalition complies with the Law of Armed Conflict and takes all feasible precautions during the planning and execution of airstrikes to reduce the risk of harm to non-combatants. We will continue to strike ISIL military targets in support of our partners in order to defeat ISIL in Iraq.
and now I read ISIL was attacking (presumably on a large scale), but I didn't figure where exactly ... according to a pro-Government Twitter account the road to Homs ("32" in the left part of the above map) has been closed...
the talk in Twitter suggested ISIL reached an inner perimeter of
(which would be closer, to the west in particular, than what was showing when I checked this morning:
The Guardian publishes an bizarre article today with a video, ,
in which the British Foreign minister says:
In an attack of honesty he accuses Saudi Arabia of fighting proxy wars in the Middle East, so including Syria and Yemen. In both wars UK stands on the side of Saudi Arabia!
The video is especially interesting.
Syria conflict: Army 'suspends Aleppo fighting'
Syria's army has suspended combat operations in eastern Aleppo, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says.
The move is to allow for the evacuation of civilians trapped in the battle zone. Mr Lavrov said some 8,000 people would be taken out.
.......
actually there appear to be several ISIL attacks going on against Government "Palmyra protrusion" (related blog by "Cassad": contains also pictures) ... let's wait and see if they can be quickly stopped from the air (Russian choppers are stationed in the middle of it! May 15, 2016some time ago
