What the........... Definitely a American M198 and many field army's would love to have this weapon! No doubt this has been captured from the Iraqi army they took delivery of this system

What surprises me is that this unit uses a 155mm projectile and a 155mm round is huge round and a very expensive round

Bad news for the people on it's receiving end!!

ISIS apparently executed 250 Syrian soldiers captured at Tabqa airbase. There is a video of captive soldiers in their underwear being led by ISIS militants, but execution itself was not shown .

IS fighters 'executed' 250 Syrian soldiers
IS fighters say they have 'executed' 250 Syrian soldiers, as President Barack Obama prepares to hold crisis talks with his security aides.

The soldiers were captured at the weekend when the Sunni militant group seized an air base in the province of Raqqa, in northern Syria.

The Reuters news agency said a video posted on YouTube on Thursday and purportedly showing dozens of bodies was confirmed as genuine by an Islamic State fighter.

In Washington, the White House said Mr Obama was due to meet with Vice President Joe Biden and members of his National Security Council.

The video shows the bodies of scores of men wearing nothing but their underwear lying face down.

The line of bodies appears to be dozens of metres long.

A caption written underneath says: 'The 250 shabeeha taken captive by the Islamic State from Tabqa in Raqqa have been executed.'

Shabeeha is the name of armed militia forces loyal to President Bashar al Assad. Tabqa is the location of the Syrian airbase that has been captured by IS in the last few days.

An Islamic State fighter in the Syrian city of Raqqa who spoke to Reuters over the internet said: 'Yes we have executed them all.'

Head of the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights later confirmed that Syrian soldiers had been 'executed' at three different places, resulting in the deaths of at least 160........

At this point with ISIS having established a no quarter reputation for itself I am surprised that those Syrian soldiers surrendered instead of fighting to the death.

I would agree, but human psychology is wondrous thing. It would cling to last bit of hope and supposedly ISIS promised those soldiers they would stay alive.

These scenes of ISIS doing what they are doing to captured soldiers and civilians alike are absolutely reminiscent of pictures from World War II.

Enemies without conscience, remorse, or the slightest regard for any human life that does not either join with them, or absolutely and totally submit to the heal of their boot.

Jeff, they aren't human at all. More like demons in human bodies. The tragic loss of life, tears up the very fabric of humanity. It is these sort of murderers that one would have no remorse when putting them out of commission.

As important it is to recognize the loss of human life, be it Iraqi, Syrian, Kurdish, Shi'ite or Sunni. It is also important to recognize that these demons-in-human-skin, have hijacked Islam and are murdering the very essence of the faith by illegally using the faith's name to commits acts of slaughter, genocide and purge.

It's in such times, I pray to God that humanity reaches into their hearts and unites to put an end to such murdering criminals. Like it was done in WW2, where post-war enemies (United States & the Soviet Union), were once allies who fought to defeat the common enemy/murderers.

If only we would learn from history, that humanity has every talent, goodness of heart and determination in them. To make this world a better place.

Islamic militia group says it has 'secured' US compound in Libya

An Islamic militant group said Sunday it has “secured” a U.S. Embassy compound in Libya’s capital city of Tripoli.

American personnel evacuated the area roughly a month ago amid ongoing fighting in the country.

An Associated Press journalist walked through the compound Sunday after the Dawn of Libya, an umbrella group for Islamist militias, invited onlookers inside.

Windows at the compound had been broken, but it appeared most of the equipment there remained untouched.

A commander for the Dawn of Libya group said his forces had entered and been in control of the compound since last week...............
