... now red lines replaced blue (I can't get rid of them easily sorry), the rest presumably stays:... in the central-north part ... the current situation is something like this ...:
"peto lucem" this afternoon:The latest article from AMN contains a map that shows the full military base under SAA control and that the siege is fully re-established.
just one more thing now: Government was successful during night attacks in the end of this week (before: not so), and the speculations in Russian Internet are Consultants ... very actively consulted during those nights...
I'll look at Southern Aleppo on Wednesday
A good strategy does not necessarily play out well. To make it works, hard work has to be done on the ground, and even with high sacrifice, it some times may still fail, unfortunately. That is why I say that SAA is in a race of time, to finish Allepo before the Turks set up their feet firmly on the IS area to the east. Unfortunately the Kurds is not going to cooperate with the government due to their backer is U.S.The risk to that strategy is demonstrated by current events though. The government attempt to lay siege to rebel held areas of Aleppo failed, probably because the Aleppo area is right next to the largest rebel held area of Idlib on one side and IS held area on the other. Once Turkey and their rebel proxies take over IS held areas to the northeast the government held areas of Aleppo will be sandwiched. Meanwhile there are still significant pockets of rebel held areas near Homs and Damascus which can create problems in the Syrian government's "rear" areas. I would have cleared out those "rear" pockets instead of trying to take over the rest of Aleppo. I would also say that the attempt to take over the rest of Aleppo was probably a trigger for Turkey launching their direct intervention on the ground.
OK they merged already yesterday (this pictures purports to show the meeting of the two groups:Yesterday at 10:01 AM

meaning: if Rebels/Turks keep the pace at which they've been moving since yesterday, ISIL will loose an access to Turkish border in this area tomorrow
now found this great map:OK they merged already yesterday (this pictures purports to show the meeting of the two groups:
I didn't notice any changes in... I'm going to look there on Monday (but I would update if I heard either side was able to take over the whole area shown in "my" map in the meantime
... and I'm not saying it because I draw it LOL...
... the bulge (shown in red in the map above; in blue: approximate positions before the game began) looks something like this:
- widens to the north-west from "Al-Hamami" (top-left corner, see?); from there
- follows the road to "Muhradah" (it's ); from there
- gets around Muhradah, down to the vicinity of "Al Majdal" () LOL still with me? four more points, then
- the bottom is north to "Khattab" (it's Khitab from https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-421#post-412920 and Government is there)
- marks a presumably important hill "Mount Zayn al-Abdeen" (), overlooking "M5" Highway https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-420#post-412846 and of course Hama, ...; then from that area
- the bulge goes north toward "Ti'an" which is Maan (yes, that's what I think) from https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-421#post-413019 and Government holds up there; from there
- widening toward etc.
