only today this video became available (by Russian journalists inside the group) ... the first part of the title is (perhaps sarcastic?) "Syria, Road To Raqqa", and the second part is like "Fighting ISIL Suicidal Attackers" (the video itself basically aims at presenting foiled suicidal attacks against the Government group) ... so we may consider if my armchair-generaling

There was plenty of firepower there to shoot up the VBIED, why wasn't that done? Were they unable to identify it as hostile until the last moment?

ISIS reverses Syrian Army gains near Tabaqa Airport

ISIS was able to recapture the Thawrah Oil Fields after successfully conducting three VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive devices) attacks along the Sukhanah-Tabaqa Road.

According to a field correspondent with the Syrian Marines, their forces did not have enough time to fortify their positions at the Thawrah Oil Fields, leaving them susceptible to an Islamic State counter-attack.
