The Raqqa base sounds relatively small if the garrison there only numbered 300, but the Syrian government forces are probably stretched thin. That's the disadvantage of being a government having to rule and hold territory while rebel forces like ISIS can focus on fighting wherever they want without having any responsibility to rule or hold anything.

From pro-Assad source. Rumors are that IS killed dozens of Syrian forces and downed helicopter.
Division 17 pulled out from base toward brigade 93. Brigade 93 is based in Ayn Issa, north of Raqqa. On the way to Ayn Issa, IS ambushed the division in retreat. Clashed in Abu Shareb village north of Raqqa. Div 17 is asking for support but not getting it. These are the news now.

Didn't get to watch video but I guess it was about Syrian security force getting beheaded and then put on to display.

Not too different than the Taliban blowing up the ancient Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan. These savages are on a crusade to destroy everything that is part and parcel of all human civilization that does not conform to their extreme interpretation of Islam.
Make no mistake.. if they have a chance they will blow up everything significant that we value today from our past.

Everything from the the Incan Ruin, Macchu Picchu to AngkorWat to the Terra Cotta warriors to the Great Wall, Sphinx, Colossuem, Statue of Liberty .. EVERYHING will be burnt or blown up!

I'm still upset of the Taliban in Afghanistan blowing up the giant Buddha statue that was so historical and old right before the US operations started..:mad::(

One of the Hallmark signs of a Psychopathic individual or organisation is that they cannot be original, they have to copy or destroy. (Or that they copy then attempt to destroy the originals to replace it) They cannot find any intrinsic value in anything other than what it can be used immediately to serve their agenda. As such they are ultimately self destructive and they don't care.

Sometimes I wonder if the likes of ISIS was created to tarnish, destroy Islam and make it worse.
