delft how do you know this? what if it was something like in for example TraktorWerke Stalingrad Winter 1942 where Wehrmach/Red Army soldiers were swapping beacon/bread (just to eat properly first, and kill them later)??
Personally I of course have no idea if this Syrian oil thing is, or is not, true, but I wouldn't be surprised if sides were making business for tactical reasons (and a middleman was involved, as the article claims), so why would I cry Propaganda! as you did

But this is likely half the story.
There is a real chance that Turkey might have mistaken the Russian aircraft as a Syrian one. Before this, Turkey had shot numerous aircraft belonging to the Syrian Air force in the past with not escort policy. And to add to misidentification, Both Russia and Syria operates Su-24s.

Also with Turkish accounts, that the Russian pilots didn't respond means they possibly communicated through channels meant for to contact Syrian planes, and not Russian.

If your military has the mentality to shoot down every plane, in this case Turkey destroying every Syrian aircraft they interpreted as air intrusion in the last years, and never adopted a policy to ecsort them. What would the outcome be?

I doubt Turkey will ever intentionally shoot down a Russian plane if they knew it was Russian beforehand.

NOTE: This is not damage control for Turkey.

Because the US didn't tell us, weeks ago, that they were bombing tankers delivering Daesh oil to Syria.
