Slightly old from 2014, but interesting... PAP with a ballistic visor. Obviously more for law enforcement and anti-terror operations than conventional military applications. Similar ballistic visors are often rated at IIIA. Can't say I have seen any branch of the Chinese armed forces field ballistic visors before.

@Dfangsaur, very interesting find! Some of those I think may be airsoft or private collections (hey, soldiers can have hobbies too). But theres plenty of interesting stuff there! I'm especially intrigued by the QBZ 95 with the flat top picatinny...
...for a rifle that is now increasingly being replaced by the QBZ 95-1 for all front-line and SOFs, the fact that a flat top is available for the older QBZ 95 is a great indication that there may be more widespread adoption of rifle optics within the PLA regular forces. :) Also seeing that (as in my previous post) a picatinny rail addition is a very simple standalone accessory, I can definitely see in the not too distant future, PLA infantry deployed with optics as standard.

Another thing I found on his instagram is a low visibility insignia, more appropriate for combat than the bright red we have seen in the past, even with the Sudan Peacekeepers. Great find!

Both of you have missed a very critical detail.
Type95-1.jpg

QBZ95 in all 5.8x42mm versions used an AK style magazine latch
This is a Type 97 5.56mm.

you can tell because the magazine used in the 5.56mm version is an AR15 magazine that demanded an adaptor.
next being a user who has been here for .... FREAKING EVER!! this version looked familiar

This image looked like one I had seen before so I hit the Way back machine....

Look familiar? we got this image back in 2014. It's a Hoaks. the Weapon is the unholy union of an Airsoft QBZ95 and Airsoft FN SCAR.

Seems like more regular infantry are wearing vests in training now. Would be good to see more training with full equipment and gear for more realistic training, so soldiers can achieve a higher level of battle fitness. What seems to be here a Type 06 vest.

PLA to clothe border troops in polar bear-inspired thermal coats
It is believed President Xi himself has already worn such a coat on several occasions

The People’s Liberation Army will start clothing its troops stationed along China’s borders with a thermal textile inspired by the fur of polar bears.

The high-tech material has very low thermal conductivity, which can prevent heat loss, the People’s Daily newspaper quoted Bai Hao, a research fellow at Zhejiang University’s (ZJU) College of Chemical and Biological Engineering, as saying.

A polar bear’s fur has a hollow core, which helps keep the bear warm and reduces infrared radiation emissions from the animal’s body, which mitigates heat loss in severe cold.

The bears’ fur has another advantage in that it can conceal the animals from thermal imaging cameras used in many night-vision devices. One can easily the military attraction of any copycat material.

To imitate the fur’s structure, the ZJU team mixed silk with water, then slowly squeezed the mixture, at a low temperature, through a syringe and into a device where the new fabric forms in a frozen state.

Bai said the material results in garments with better heat retention capabilities and is also cheaper than down.

The exact composition of the new “polar bear” frock coat has already been patented, the PLA Daily reports.

A substantial portion of China’s 22,100-kilometer border runs through semi-polar regions, highlands and plateaus, from the frigid northeast border with Russia’s Siberia to the Himalayas in Tibet. Soldiers have to brave severe cold in winter when patrolling and responding to emergencies.

Temperatures in the northernmost Chinese county of Mohe, in Heilongjiang province, can plunge to as low as -35°C, which can be a big drag on combat capabilities and even the well-being of troops. The PLA’s top brass have long been on the hunt for better materials to keep soldiers warm.

It is believed that Chinese President Xi Jinping has already worn a “polar bear” coat on several occasions, including when he inspected sites for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games in February of last year and presided over a military drill in Inner Mongolia this January.

Interesting I just noticed the camouflage pattern of the boot collar. a few armies do that the toe cap though is in classic leather. The Advantage is really minor but it generally means you cant wear that boot with other uniform sets. also of course the Classic Ushanka.
