My point of criticism is, why would you aid a nation and someone in that nation's military who has expressed more than enough times they see you as their greatest enemy and really really wants to have a quick cold to hot war? It's just so pathetic and/or naive. It's one thing if he bought it off Taobao, at least it was a transaction, but given?
Sure, but it’s ultimately inconsequential.

I think if there was a situation that US soldiers are using small arms to fight the PLA, things are already quite dire (for either side)

Going off topic, but considering how crucial the islands in the Pacific are for both sides and how the tension in the Korean Peninsula is still high, that probability of both sides’ infantrymen, Marines, or SOF engaging with each other is pretty high.

Back on topic, from a Chinese standpoint, one of the few good things about this test is that it will reveal the true quality of your force at the time the armor was in service. It more or less acts as a transparency test.

And it looks like someone made this interesting observation in the thread about Oxide's tests:View attachment 126501
Considering Oxide's response it is likely that he missed this part in the tests.

The comments will be full of low IQ memeposters. The entire discourse around the Chinese armor is so so childish. Their youtubers buy the cheapest "junk" they can find. Usually never provide any links or even mention the price. The entire point is collective memeposting for such videos. Sometimes the cheap "junk" is quite good. Then they get surprised in the fakest way possible.

Eh, I'm not too worried. As others have said, our stuff has been used in the ukraine war by both sides and both gave good reviews. More importantly, those armor won't be protecting you from rockets and that's one thing we have in abundance. And if the PLA really wants better armor, they will just make them like literally everything else we have. It's a question of priority and needs.

I would be worried if the plate doesn't perform to the standards it claims to reach. If PLA is issuing lower tier armor, it is ultimately a procurement choice. If there is an overclaiming, then that is a problem. If the guy didn't test the plate as it was intended to be used, then he is just pandering to memeposters, deliberately or not. How he answered that query screams wrong testing BTW. He answered it in a passive-aggressive way and what he wrote is irrelevant to what was posted. Why he didn't simply write "I tested with a backer" if he indeed did?

It can only be a good thing for the soldier if the plate is found to not preform. Bad press would force them to improve.

I never expect any Westerner to not be biased against anything Chinese-made, I'm not delusional about how they operate. I'm more curious about the other tweet saying there are two versions, the standard, and the PE version. I wonder if he actually got something standard of the PLA or just something similar. There has already been a lot of fake PLA equipment that is closely similar to the official equipment and is being sold to foreigners. I trust the PLA enough that they test and quality check their equipment to not be dissuaded by some videos of "allegedly" acquired PLA equipment. Even more so when it's something as simple as body armor.
