I believe that is an entrenching tool which is basically a short shovel that is easy to carry. If I remember correctly, the old ones have a longer and wooden grip, so this one might be a completely different entrenching tool.Is that a shovel on the ground? Do they have a detachable handle that screws into the hole at the back of the shovel handle? that looks like an unexpectedly complex detachable handle... it seems to contain quite a few compact multitools hidden in the center cavity.
