Tejas Mark II to Roll Out Next Year; High-speed Trials in 2023:HAL Chief Madhavan

Indeed the rumours were true...

Work for prototype of Mark 2 has well began now. Roll out will happen in August-Sep, next year.

Production 'likely' by 2025. By production, probably Limited Series Production by HALs own money without orders (just like happening in the case of LCH.) (very weird.....)

So in hindsight, we are seeing MK2 before MK1A. Again, weird.

Meanwhile, additional info suggests that canopy of LCA is getting upgraded (thickened) , being tested on prototypes. Might be used on MK1As.

Wingman....
They knew. I read about it in other discussion spaces as early as 2018-2019.

As I said, models are one thing. The real deal is another. India's Military development and time frames aren't organic. They are in a "Since others has it me wants it too" delusion.

A weapon system ought to perform a particular role in a clearly worked out and formulated battle plan that is in line with its economic growth. One can understand China's battle plans and posture just from the type of weapons developed and area of deployment.
