Su-30 has a much higher RCS and Pakistan used electronic interference during the attack. Supposedly Abindinan entered Pakistanis territory because he lost contack with his wingman due to interference. The question is why India didn't have the proper countermeasures.
I agree that the SU30 has a RCS disadvantage. Nevertheless it is still India's premier fighter and the SU30MKI capabilities being frequently hyped. It is not a good state to be in given the distance of the lock as it was probably at the upper quartile of the F-16 radar range and it is probably a APG-68 series. However the jammer has a range advantage as it only has to travel one way unlike radar which has to travel both ways.

In the case of Abindinan, I don't know what type of data link India has but if has Link16 like capability it is not easy to jam because it's signal is omnidirectional and I don't believe PAF has dedicated jammers. You will need a lot of power to barrage jam from such a distance.

A defense department agency that deals with the sale of US military equipment to foreign countries has notified Congress of the sale that will cost $2.6 billion, including other supporting equipment and ammunition, such as 10 Hellfire missiles, 38 advanced precision kill weapons system rockets; and 30 MK 54 torpedoes.

The proposed sale will support US foreign policy and national security “by helping to strengthen the US-Indian strategic relationship and to improve the security of a major defensive partner which continues to be an important force for political stability, peace, and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region”, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said in a statement.

The statement also noted that the helicopters will provide India the ability to “perform anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare missions along with the ability to perform secondary missions including vertical replenishment, search and rescue, and communications relay”.

“India will use the enhanced capability as a deterrent to regional threats and to strengthen its homeland defense,” the statement added.

Lockheed Martin’s Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems will be the lead contractor on the deal.

India and the United States have been ramping up defense ties in recent years with joint military exercises, exchanges and exchanges. They held their first 2+2 ministerial last September, a simultaneous meeting for their defense and foreign ministers. They ended years of discussions and back-and-forth and signed two enabling agreement LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement) and COMCASA (Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement) in recent years to improve interoperability between their militaries. And they are likely to sign the third, BECA (Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement) soon.

Defense trade between between the two countries has also shot up, and is expected to reach $18 billion this year from zero until a decade ago.

US department of defense leaders told lawmakers at a Congressional hearing last week that the strategic partnership with India had continued to advance at a “historic pace” and the militaries of the two countries were working to increase interoperability and information-sharing capabilities.

Stupid is as stupid does. Two nations sharing the same blood and many aspects of culture fighting and killing each other because of religion. Territorial disputes are merely a front. It was/is always religion.

It is a bit click bait but it is also fairly even keeled. Pointing out that along with BAE, the Indians asked Lockheed Martin, DCNS, and the Russians.
The Russians this far have been the leads but there history with Indian carriers is spotty.
DCNS was working with BAE for a French carrier design that was cancelled. I imagine that a limited partnerships of those might be possible again and best suited to a Dassault Rafale using navy.
Lockheed Martin had no real carrier work.

I don't think Indians asked out BAE ( that would be very bizzare considering India's troubled history with the brits). Certainly DCNS as the french has experience in CATOBAR nuclear powered flat tops. Russians? Unlikely. They have no experience in that specific dept. Since India is looking out for a non-nuclear flat top carrier, the french or americans would be a better bet. Wouldn't trust americans to part with critical technology tho ( with senate approvals, conditions attached and all that). That would be a concern for Indians. So French it is. I haven't heard much about the EMALS tech that US was rumored to transfer to the Indians. I don't think the transfer has been completed. The french is sure enjoying the Indian dollars and seems like they'd be enjoying it for the next decade too. Rafale-M for the aircraft carrier, Thales AESA, Carrier operations/design assistance, the already finalized Rafale deal etc.

Go back far enough all humans share common ancestors (rather A common ancestor alive not even that long ago). It's this tribalism that create lines of division and conflict. China does the exact same and not too long ago modern day PRC was many different kingdoms that are as different as China and Vietnam or Japan today. We are all just as stupid.
