Thoughts?

Their (India) two front war strategy was and is a by product of grand delusion that's very typical of how India sees itself ever since its inception as a Republic back in 1947.

Its a country infamous for making grand proclamations and ambitions that could never be matched by their actual capabilities, know-how in just about anything one could think of. Traits like boasting, loquaciousness, unbridled arrogance etc...are hallmarks that have found them some success but these same traits are what have and will continue to stymie their delusions of supapowah status.

Not only will India lose a one-front war with China, but it will lose rapidly and decisively, with much of its tactical aviation wiped out in hours and the PLA suffering little to no loses.

The "42-squadron" is a farce. India needs fewer squadrons, not more. If India want its defeat to be less catastrophic (victory or even stalement is already impossible), it should divest from aircrafts and invest in mobile survivable ground-base air defense and long range missiles.

Would not be surprised that India lose a one-front war with Pakistan on the aviation side. Ground war could be different with numbers but damn, beside Rafale purchase, India airforce is degrading more than improving in the past 20 years.

The day Indian forums become credible and sensible is the day India becomes a legit threat in Asia.
That day will never come unless "The whole Indian mindset" changes to become introspective with deep humility and not indulge in the self-delusion of supapowah status well before all the necessary structural ingredients are in place.

Just look at how then former Lt.Gen. Hooda was even fooled by his own junior staff when he pushed to transition/replace the Indian Army software from U.S. Microsoft to open space software upon Edward Snowden's revelation on U.S. spy program. That officer is none other than another recently retired Lt.Gen. Shukla ( an open admirer of Xi Jinping's military reform) stating that his former bosses' order made theoretical sense but were impractical to implement given the severe technical limitations they faced. So rather than tell his boss that unworkability or infeasibility of the plan, they instead chose to feed him lies i.e. fooled the boss. And as a reward, officer Shukla got promoted to bigger command and doctrinal responsibility culminating into the last position as the commanding officer of training command. What an exemplary officer imbued with Indian Army integrity and ethos of lying till you make it.

The recent revelation itself was a disappointing news to Lt.Gen. Hooda. Yet, we're told that the entire Indian military is on par or even ahead of the PLA in quality manpower and intellectual heft, not to mention in terms of character and integrity. LOL

Attrition and grounded aircraft have been major problems for IAF as long as I can remember. A big chunk of the squadrons are always grounded, usually due to poor maintenance. It was thought (years ago) that IAF had too many different types of aircraft from different suppliers. The Mig 21 alone had 400+ accidents, killing 200+ pilots.

Given China's overwhelming drone advantage, I suspect many of those "mobile air defences" would be taken out within hours.

Nevertheless, it doesn't matter that China has a huge conventional and nuclear superiority. India is "strong enough" to credibly threaten China with a nuclear attack which makes a live hot war between the two powers very unlikely.

The Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Southern Command of the Indian Army conducted the Swavlamban Shakti military exercise. During the exercise, the Indian T-90S Bhishma tanks were seen wearing the anti-drone protection system called Mangal, the first time this type of protection has appeared on Russian and Ukrainian tanks. The Swavlamban Shakti exercise was conducted to enhance combat capabilities by integrating niche and emerging technologies into army units. More than 1,800 personnel, 210 armored vehicles, 50 specialized vehicles and numerous air and air assets participated in the exercise.
