None of these companies make their own software products and sell them on the market. They are basically indentured servants. Instead of getting infinite free money from software licenses, they get paid for actual work.

I did not ask for total exports of goods and services but the export of software alone.

According to World Bank, that you have cited, these are the relevant numbers. I'm not sure how ICT service exports is defined. Maybe BPO services are excluded which is why Philippines, a close competitor of India, is not seen atop the list either.

Still, ICT service exports are not software exports. Can you present any non Indian source of information for that number? At $99 billion of ICT service exports, your software exports should not be more than $20 billion at most. Who would be purchasing so much software licenses from Indians? I have yet to come across any notable personal or enterprise grade software of Indian origin.

I would use WTO as a source for IT services exports rather than World Bank. The World Bank often has weird cut-offs and definitions.

Ireland's super-high number is just a function of tax-dodging, for example. The WTO tries to correct for this, the World Bank does not.
