I think India's Reliance Energy used to buy components for supercritical coal power plants from China at one point.
The equipment was supplied by Shanghai Electric Corporation.

I do not know how many of India's coal power plants are modern designs, but they should have several of those.

No one produces the latest coal power station design other than China. Most wealthy nations have a stigma against coal. China has diversified itself with energy and all types are moving forward, even nuclear power station design. I think the latest gen has a combination of French and Russian designs and a domestic one too. Thorium and pebble salt experimentation reactors are world leading. India talks, China works.

Western nations don't invest anywhere near as much in coal. They don't have quite the same energy demand for heavy industries and in the scale china has. Indian coal station designs are mostly antiquated and they have not been really developing their own. Meanwhile the latest Chinese ones with modern scrubber tech is truly lightyears ahead but not enough for energy demands with surging industry and global demands.

India is basically undergoing Filipinization. In the Philippines, there's what you call a sachet culture, where everything is sold in sachets because Filipinos can't afford the usual container-size stuff.

Ford Does Not Want To Invest Any Further In India
Despite approval of its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) application, this plan has now been dropped. Ford’s decision is to not advance its EV manufacturing plans in India. While the auto manufacturer expresses gratitude for having its proposal approved, this option is now not being explored. The application won’t see the light of day as Ford isn’t investing in India.

They have to continue peddling that narrative man because Indians for some messed up reasons are stupidly gullible idiots. Convinced of their own yet to be realized greatness. They literally upend the proverb of "Don't put the cart before the horse."

They would come up with back in their days it was always the horse before the cart or some idiotic nonsense that would make your head spin.
