Indian delusion is something else. Imagine asking Tesla to build a Giga-factory when the average income is less than $2k. Like who will Tesla sell its cars to ? Cows?

Ford Does Not Want To Invest Any Further In India
Despite approval of its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) application, this plan has now been dropped. Ford’s decision is to not advance its EV manufacturing plans in India. While the auto manufacturer expresses gratitude for having its proposal approved, this option is now not being explored. The application won’t see the light of day as Ford isn’t investing in India.
Indian politicians be like: give us your technology, money, skills, reputation, resources, industry know-how and time, and in return we'll let you build a factory here that might materialize in some form within a decade or two after all the relevant parties have been consulted and legal proceedings settled. You get access to malnourished and uneducated workers which are less productive for the wages commanded than pretty much every ASEAN country and a consumer base as rich as middle of the pack African nations. Oh and every once in a while we'll fine you hundreds of millions of dollars and nationalize your assets for no apparent reason. Don't like it? Then GTFO, you don't deserve us! Jai Hind!
Like IMF estimates that chronically overestimate the USA and chronically underestimate China. India competing with China is a media trope at this point. It doesn't at all.
The Economist: millions have died in India, but Indian economy will prosper.
On China: fewer people have died, but lockdown has strangled China economy and China gonna collapse.
India always one step from greatness, China always one step from collapse........
Easy way to sell clicks = give the masses what they want to hear. How many Chinese are going to read the economist over the GFW? How many Jai Hinds? There's your answer.
