Ok, Sumdud's drawings made me think, and I came up with another interesting configuration:
The main downpoint is that it is butt ugly. But aside from that it is a good shape. The reverse sweep intakes overcome the high AoA issue. I do like the wing, even though it includes leading edge slats (a compromise) but I don't like the look of the rear end.
I then redraghted my previous favorite with the swept wing plan, mounted slightly further aft, and some blending on the upper fuselage:

Wow, this is an awesome thread! I'll probably post a drawing once I finish up on my current drawings...
Some design evolution of the config illustrated in post 22:
(note that it would be blended rather than razor sharp facet edges as drawn).
When I sketched it 3d it became obvious that internal volume was a problem so I've revised the fuselage with a "hunch back".

Well first off I'd say it's a really bad idea to use BMP anytime on the web, it's pretty much quality overkill. If possible, try converting to Jpeg, it will definitely make a big difference.
