It is a bit wild how organized the rioters where in 2019. They had a group organized to riot in the city to lure the police force away from the poly university in hopes those people could escaped the containment. Well, time to pay the piper. People caught in that ruse are getting up to 3+ year of prison

Which only got even more of them arrested.

Should've just declare martial law so to let Mainland judiciary and penal system sort them out. Throw them in some prison deep in Yunnan forest, all with 10 years prison terms with no possibility of parole, only then it'd begin to justify the suffering that law-abiding citizens suffered during that time.

If it were possible I would deport them to the UK, gets rid of criminals, criminals think they're winning until they land and realize UK is a shithole, laugh at their regret and also it simultaneously sends a message that even they wouldn't live in the place they want to transform hong kong into.

Apparently they caught 213 rioters during that legendary diversion tactic. 200 have been convicted. 6 non guilty and 7 fled. I guess they misunderstood Sun Tzu or something lol

A Nepali was caught too, he just got sentence 5 years.

Up into 2019, the HK courts and police were definitely too soft in past protest allowing these "youths" to think they can get away with these types of behavior. Another problem is that the court system seem to be too slow.

Before 2019, there was no violence like that. The worst was Occupy Central, but there wasn't anything like widespread molotovs or smashing stores.

Court may be slow, but that is a sign of 2 things
1. Real intelligence gathering and detailed interrogations and follow up
2. Real collection of evidence because the rule of law has not actually been violated as alleged. Most of the records of these prosecutions are open.

The reason why the jail sentences are so light is because their lives are basically done. In the article, the judge made such a remark. They won't do anything more than cleaning toilets if they stay in HK. If they leave HK, it will likely be as an illegal immigrant because they will have a criminal record that would eliminate them from most legitimate forms of emigration to western countries.

I usually try to keep public toilets as clean as possible out of respect to the people and cleaners, however the fact that:
- There is a real possibility that many roaches are becoming toilet cleaners
- Hong Kong people are generally the most selfish people I have encountered in the world,
I am struggling not to reconsider.

The second rudest people I've encountered are French public service workers, for whom I left an excellent surprise.
