did you see it, airsuperiority? it seems 9/28 protests weren't "completely peaceful" (I can't imagine that footage to be faked -- charging with canopies of umbrellas for example LOL)

at 01:20, I can see a Police Officer lifting a red banner:
Stop Charging or We Use Force

no need to explain on Military Forum :)

I think this was after some students climbed the fences.

I've no regrets about the tear gas, says top police officer who ordered its use

"It wasn't intended to disperse the crowd ... it was intended to stop the charge and make sure there was no crush of people," he said.

After assessing the situation for several hours and when a group of about 200 protesters became more aggressive in trying to break the police cordon, he said he - and he alone - authorised the officers under his command to use tear gas on the protesters.

"The guys at the front, in the first three or four rows, were very aggressive in their actions towards police, poking umbrellas, kicking officers," he said last night in an interview with the Sunday Morning Post at police headquarters in Wan Chai, where the nearby streets remained closed due to the protests.

OMG, being poked with umbrellas - how awful!

Come on, who is this guy? Aren't police officers supposed to be trained in dealing with tense situations? If they use tear gas and pepper spray when they're jabbed with umbrellas, what do they do if there's a real disturbance - ask the PLAAF to carry out strafing runs?!

Fallacy of quoting out of context.

Its called assaulting a Police Officer in this country and will lead you to a fine or jail sentence. Under many circumstances probably a full fist in the face as well for your trouble!

Don't believe me? try it!

I don't think it's fair to say "I don't think you understand them". It's a good way to end the discussion right here. By the same token, I don't think you understand the situation in Hong Kong because you're not even in Hong Kong.

I accept people being different, but it's (some of) the protesters and youths who cannot accept a POV different from them. In Hong Kong, the reality is if you're not pro-democracy, you'll be witch-hunted and picked on by the vast amount of pro-democracy fanatics. They are so paranoid about the CPC they themselves are becoming the very "evil" they hate.

Take a look at this screen. One of my friends who expressed opposition opinions on FB got "uprooted" and have his identity exposed to the public. I know, these people are the minority, but I've never seen anything like this from the anti-OC camp, who are comparatively much much more accepting of different opinions.

PS. how do I post an image properly?

Isn't it an irony? Those who yelled the loudest about freedom and democracy are often the most intolerant and show the least concern about others.

The OC people has done something extraordinary. They've made some HKers feel that CCP is right in 1989.

I see this long thread on a local forum (40+pages long) with people expressing how they "regretted" supporting the students back then by donating money; "regretted" joining each year's 6.4 parade. Many pointed out that the media is heavily biased in HK now that anti-OC voices can hardly be heard. Therefore they argue: if in today's open and connected HK the true feelings of many citizens can be ignored and twisted by media, wouldn't the Western media twist facts or cover at least part of the truth back then?

Validity of the argument aside, facts and truths of the Tiananmen incident aside, the sentiment itself already shows how unpopular OC has become among some citizens....

Would you mind showing us the link?
