Just finish reading half of the thread, and I have to say we Chinese will out survive every race there is. I mean we eat everything that is edible. Oh I had dogs before, more than once. It taste pretty good, kind of like really good beef.

Theres this TV program about how to survive on your surroundings out in the wildnerness. Ive seen him drink his own urine, and eat the liver of a dead animal carcass he came across,
Can you beat that?

I think I have seen that show. Talking about drinking urine, now this is told by my mom, and I do not believe it, but apparently when I was little my mom was changing my diaper, but she had to leave the room for a few minutes, when she came back she saw poo all over my face, and she said she is sure I ate my own poo. While I refuse to believe my mother, if I actually did eat my own poo, then beat that.

Damingli, I lived a little more than 100kms than you while in China, in Shijiazhuang:p

I miss Jianbing guozi, they don't have it here in Calgary. Oh, tofu soup too. Hell, I don't think they have any northern style restaurants here, except for a really bad Northeastern style one.

ENEMY! You guys stole the provincial capital position from us. Like I said back in the day, the only good Chinese food here is from family. Two days ago I was hungry and desperate so I bought this combo thing from a Chinese restaurant, god it was awful.

The Europeans have a saying "Death by Chocolate", because of their love for things,Chocolate, theres even a franchise chain over here by that name.

I read somewhere that Asians as in Japanese have a high incidence of cancers of the stomach and other areas. They suspect its due to much salt and soya sauce in the diet. So I guess you Northern Chinese can adopt the expression, "death through Soya":D

Anyway how often do you guys eat Western Meals?

I know for a fact that you guys have lamb kabab, the chinese style, in NYC. I saw it on the travel channel when they talk about street foods in NYC.

Oops, I think I misunderstood your question. And no, we don't have the Chinese style lamb kabab here in Houston. In fact, there is no street food in Texas since nobody wants to stay outside in the sun for too long (they themselves might be fried and become "street food" :D).

My mom also considered it dirty and banned us from eating it when we still lived in China, but I used my allowance to get them anyways ;) It was my daily job to pick up milk every evening before dinner. So on my way back, I would stop by a lamb kabab stand and get one scewer.
