How did it taste in the Mochi? They probably did something to it so that it doesn't smell. That might also alter the taste too. or it may be the small quantity in the Mochi doesn't amount to the level that we can smell it while the actual fruit contains much larger amount of the element that gives the smell.

I really like mochi, absolutely love the tastes, but cant stand durian, horrible smell, reminds me of stinky tofu here in taiwan. Another interesting fruit is dragon fruit, has anyone tried that?
I might have, as the name sounds familiar. What does it look like?
I ate them cold.theres two types , the regular one and the frit one where the rice outer has a fruit taste and is usually coloured.I must be thinking of something totally different. Is the dragon fruit same as the dragon eye? If it is, then it's dried Lichi, or Leechi (not sure about the spelling).
Theres two different friuits thatwe get from Asia , later. i photograph them and you can tell me then.
About the Mochi, did you eat it warm or cold? Some of them should be eaten frozen. But I do admit that I'm not a big fan of Mochi either. It does have this weird texture.
Oy..... Muy bueno. I love dragonfruit.
火龍果 in Chinese.
It's a red fruit with green "leaves" on the body.
Inside the fruit is flesh, either white or yellow, with small black seeds.
Taste is subtle and thus varies a bit.
There's a red variety also. The white variety taste sour, the red variety sweet.
