HJ-8 ATGM in Syria

Does the HJ-8 have a distinctive launch sound? Some of these videos don't show the weapon being fired at all.

Yes, there is a distinct pulsating sound with a HJ8 flies, which does not seem to be present in that last video, but it was hard to tell for sure with all the silly yelling.

Talk about nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, that tank was toast. The Syrian Army definitely needs some close air support either by attack helicopters and/or drones. Other wise they just have to do it the old fashion way.

If compared to Russians ATGM's used in Syria like the Konkurs it has more level flight path and flare behind is more amber/yellowish in color. Russians ATGM's tend to bounce around like a mad man's d1ck when in flight, so even if there is no sound it's relatively easy to tell if HJ-8 is used. Some reason Russian ATGM's also smoke a lot more.

Why the hell does the Russian missiles do that? Seems like a very ineffective use of fuel, and also make the missile ill suited for tight urban environments since the missile is far more likely to accidentally strike a passing building or structure rather than its intended target if its corkscrewing all over the place like that.

Probably has to do with they way they are guided to the kill. Konkurs and HJ8 are both optical wire guided. Now there are two types of optical wire guided. Manually controlled and semi automatic. In Manually control types the shooter has to track both the missile and the target. To do that the missile has to be visible to the shooter, usually a strobe, IR light and perhaps even the smoke comes into that.
In semi auto the missile guides onto the target on its own so long as the missile launcher is pointing towards that target.
HJ8 is a semiautomatic type. Konkurs uses a hybrid it partiality guides on its own but to make the kill it switches to manual.

Does it mean that they make it bound around like that so that it's more difficult to intercept?
