HJ-8 ATGM in Syria

The operator is lucky to hit anything given how much he is weaving that missile around.

LOL...I know right? That thing went from one direction and than instantly turn a quick 90 degrees to avoid a wall and than back on track towards it's target (or so it seems to me). I say it's a pretty darn good system.;):p

I suspect the fire control was directing the missile, having sensed itself being blocked by the wall, it quickly switched to the other direction.

China has no control over the smuggling. Sudan was suspected to be the source but they denied it.

New York Times claimed they were from Sudan, but I have always suspected UAE since they operate HJ-8 and support the rebels, and they can most definitely by more from China. I would not be too surprised if we are going to see HJ-8L platforms in rebel hands if this civil war continues years to come.

Tanks can't out run a guided missile. Apparently probably the tank driver survive, while his buddies and tank commander were more likely killed or injured inside the turret.

Most tanks use a two compartment configuration. That is to say you have the driver isolated in a coffin like space in the hull, then you have the turrets space which houses the main gun ammo and serves as the space for the commander gunner radioman and. In some cases loader. The turret is. The most prominent part of a tank and most armed its also the most vulnerable. So the driver who ironically lives in the most coffin like space is most likely to live.
