I just read the first two pages of this thread and I believe that y'all are mistaken.

Santa Claus (i.e. Dun Che Lao Ren) is Chinese. How else can you explain that Santa's toys are all made in China? :p

Martin and the other members are all wrong . Because we get first drop on his delivery run of the Christmas goodies we get to celebrate Christmas first.That means means Santa and his Chinese elves/helpers lives in the South Pole closer to NZ.
