I can't find the exact quote regarding this particular rumor since it's from another user, but that would be his Chinese Twitter page if you want to check it out. I think he was among the first ones to "leak" that the FC-31 project had gained government funding back in spring 2017.

Do people think we'll see actual photos soon or just another teaser for an existing program that is more on less still in testing phase if not further behind? It's usually not a very Chinese attitude to show something they have not really perfected.

I'll relay the following opinions from pb19980515:

"XAC has been studying a four-engined bomber design since 2010. 8 years have passed, so it is likely to be unveiled soon. It's best not to extrapolate the bomber's shape from the video as the CG might not be entirely representative of the actual bomber."

While it may not be the same image I am perplexed as to why the image is SO similar. That is either on purpose or there is zero content control at avic, so some eager artist just copied Northrop Grumman ad and no one at avic cares even to check.
