Google earth hasn't added any new hi res pics of importance for this topic in a long time. Give it time.

certain areas in middle east and America have been censored or replaced with lower-res images... censorship in the free world :(

Not saying it's affected images of china but Google earth doesn't seem as liberating as it did a year ago...

Wide areas of the US and Europe are indeed ´patched´ with manipulated and distorted sectors. Of course somebody has to be very simple minded expecting to find high resolution pictures of Area 51 , ´The Farm´ or NSA headquarters in Fort Meade on an internet service provided by an US corporate firm.

Interestingly more and more sites in Europe are similarly ´creatively modified´like french nuclear sites (power plants and other nuke fabs) and a number of british intelligence related buildings and areas are also removed or completely substituted by fake data.

The indian government has recently demanded that Google has to be more sensitive about New Delhi's security concerns and I would not be surprised if China has already made a behind the scenes deal with Google about not interfering with Beijing's national security interests.:D

Google has paid the necessary respect to China's national laws regarding pornography, anti social content and anti china propaganda and probably they have decided not to endanger potential multi billion $ deals in the emerging IT market number one.:D :D

The recently slow pace of adding more current material (not pictures up to seven years old! )
in Google Earth seems to indicate that they are busy with ´working over´their maps for the public or that new maps will not be introduced at all for some ´special regions´. Unfortunately Google Earth is turning into a sham and in some time only data about sponsored real estate areas will probably be authentic.

:( I have to concur. But there's still some gems out there. I doubt the likes of North Korea, Syria, Iran, Burma etc will be doing deals with Google any time soon :)
