Excellent and very plausible guess mate. Doesn't make it right I'm afraid, but I see the likeness. This is definately self-propelled and almost certainly intended for combat use.

Hmmm...and I thought some of Pointblank's were tough. I think Planeman is having a little fun with us.
I don't really know what this is, but the "boat" appears to be a Soviet-style pair of pontoons/engineer ferries, and the object on top of it looks kind of like the jet engine (and I actually meant jet engine - derived from the one on the MiG-21 I think) that the Warsaw Pact used to use for NBC decontamination - put detergent (soap) through the jet engine, and drive armoured vehicles past it - I'm not making this up.
Can't tell what country, but my guess is from Eastern Europe, probably one of the new NATO members.

You see, the lengths I have top go to catch you guys! I'll wait till Costas and Golly have at least posted a guess in the dark then reveal all. When I do I'm sure there'll be a round of "doh, of course why didn't I think of them!"
But re the tube - word on the street is that it's a torpedo tube. Me saying jet engine was a joke.

Well if it is a torbedo tube, it sure must be quite large, way larger than 650mm. From large torpedoes only thing that comes to my mind was the "stratecigal" 1500mm nuclear torbedo intended to be fitted with modified pr. 627 class (November) nuclear submarines. But I've never heard it being actually tested so...Who knows..
