So, what needed is almost like a industrial revolution from grass root level, or sputnik moment to spur them dig deeper..
Looks like they these people in particular got their Sputnik moment.

I inquire SMEE shanghai maker of IC scanner and they dont even respond. That's bad. Maybe I can help but judging their nonresponse, they have no confidence on their product.
No, I don't think you can judge anything by their non-response. In what capacity did you approach them? As a customer? Certainly not. As a technical expert? What reputation do you have in this field that they should listen to you?

Do you know why EUV lithography uses the laser tin droplet system to produce plasma to produce the light? That seems needlessly complicated. Of course, they must have good reason(s). Do you know what it is? eg maybe more energy efficient?

EUV is naturally generated by the

so, either you have plasma method or synchrotron. Synchroton is by accelerating the electron in a ring and hitting the atom. Synchrotron is more expensive.
The other way is by plasma. How do you generate plasma which is 500,000 degree C How do you get so hot, high pulse laser hitting something small like 5um in a 15nanosecond time, and that generate huge heat and plasma which emits bunch of light beside EUV. So, you filter the other light out.
Tin is most efficient in generate EUV.

Maybe that's what needed. If doesn't get pushed all the way to the corner they wont do it.

not really, I ask their scanner and discuss its technical spec.
what kind of company is that when refusing to engage with regular inquiry on their product?
any normal company when emails inquiring the technical aspects of their products they would certainly give response.
in that sense, they are abnormal. I heard that scanner is not being used in anywhere in China. Thats why they dont bother to answer.

That's the way markets work, unfortunately. No foresight, no contingency planning, certainly no sense of patriotism - just do things the easy way and make a quick buck.

Odd. Is the company fraudulent? Anyway, you seem to know quite a bit about this field. Why not start a company that manufactures this equipment? Do things the right way and make yourself some ca$h. There should be a lot of money flowing into this field with the government so interested.

Can the plasma be generated without lasers?
