As far as Pelosi's visit goes, I would say the drills were enough of a response. however I believe and I hope that China will use the visit as an excuse to reunify in this year as soon as possible. this is a golden opportunity that should not be wasted, European economies have become an absolute sh*t show, the Europeans are a threat to no one but themselves at this point and the US is damaged but to a less extent than Europe. Plus regaining Taiwan will help give China several years worth of a boost in it's semiconductor industry. China needs to gain Taiwan while the enemy is week before the US/EU recover and before the US hollows out Taiwan of all of it's tech.
China doesn't necessarily gain a boost itself but it must take action soon to deny US from stealing Chinese semiconductor tech on Taiwan.

Yup just like two can salami slice, two can play the scorthed earth game...
China can either take back or missile strike TSMC and then US is back on equal footing with China as far as semiconductors are concerned

It’s just a name. So long as people know what you’re talking about all that really matters here. CCP, CPC, are all just different translations of the Chinese name anyways.
This is not just a name issue.
CPC, the correct abbrevation, is deliberately mangled to 'CCP' to subconsciously associate it with the 'CCCP' of the Soviet Union that the West have invested so much to demonize.

I value my surname being properly presented.
I don't see why my name gets mangled but not Lee Kuan Yew, Xi Jinping, Moon Jae-in or Tsai Ing Wen.
The Japanese are the exception who self mangled their names.
But I noticed that recently, they are more inclined to have their names romanized properly.

Obviously they know the proper way to present East Asian names but choose to disrespect us.

Don’t know if anyone subconsciously associates it with the CCCP because I really doubt barely anyone even knows what the CCCP stands for. The Western Public has remembered them as the Soviets or USSR alongside countless games, media, etc that basically imprinted the Soviet Union as the USSR and not the CCCP. The only thing they can subconsciously associate is the word communist.

I think the Chinese Socialist/Communist flags already makes that association. Before i knew anything, i always wonder why were they flying the Soviet Union's flag along with the Chinese flag..

Also, "Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said she had ordered officials to call in ambassador Zheng Zeguang to explain his country's actions in recent days ..."

Oh to be a fly on the wall for that embarrassment of the UK (she might actually be the PM soon!).

That is actually Liz Truss hiding behind the flag!
