24 or 26 for Russian Air Force, several for Naval Aviation (5 or 7 ) , unknown number for foreign buyers . Overall , with Su-34 and Su-35, respectful number of new Flankers .
And both are very good aircraft.
The Russians are hedging their bets nicely with their economic situation and 5th gen program having difficulties.
Still, over the next few years, unless something drastic happens, the story is going to be the vastly increasing numbers of F-35s being produced for nations all over the world.
Love it or hate it...the F-35 is going to be a strong 5th generation stealth aircraft, and the US is going to produce them in three variants and in numbers...and a lot of countries are going to acquire them.
When speaking of Hi-low strategies (and I do not believe the US planners would call it that), having the F-22 and F-35 in that line up is about as much a dream for a dream team as you can get.

The F35 have very deep bays. Has anyone thought to develop a stacked, multi-lay AAM carriage mechanism to take full advantage of that depth?
Take this picture for example, looks like they got a SDB stacked above the pair of AMRAAMs.
That means that should be able have another 2 AMRAAMs in each bay if they found a way to stack the missiles so that they are spread over two layers rather than the one currently.
I know the internal ducting may make it too snug for AMRAAMs, but what about a slightly cut down design as the AMRAAM replacement so that it could be stacked vertically within the bays?
Looks more like a 500lb Mk82 JDAM.
Do almost the entire length of the bay for me it is a 907 kg bomb.
Me also I think he get more deep bays as F-22 because A/C can carry a bomb of 907 kg ( A/C ) and no the F-22, 454 kg, or F-22 can carry but not use because hard points/ejector in the bay not wired/interface possible also software ? because her air superiority main mission.
A GBU-31, 907 kg have a diameter of 3.8 m x 0.6, GBU-32, 454 kg do 3 m x 0.5
A AIM-120C do 3.7 m x 0.18 body, with wings 0.45 m AIM-120A do 0.53 and F-22 can have only 4 vs 6 for C.
For weapons bay for the two i have :
F-35A/C can carry a weapon of max : 4.2 m long, 0.64 x 0.64 m
F-22 weapons bay size : 3.9 m, width 1.8 m : 2 x 0.9 m ?
But i don' t have

What do I think Forbin? I think the engineers that designed this aircraft knew EXACTLY what they were doing and have the maximum and safest loadout designed into the aircraft.
Smart weapons loaded in the F-35 can destroy targets in one sortie. No need for an extra load.
Why would you want to cram a couple of more weapons in the weapons bay?That extra weight will increase the fuel usage there by decreasing the combat radius of the aircraft.

oooppss..my bad..missed that one..afte-rall this is the F-35 thread... My answer would be the same. Maybe AFB has an answer.
I really don't think so???, but I'm not a weapons or load-out junkie, I'm basically an airframer, but my first response is no.
