A U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet conducts an interoperability test event with a Navy F-35C Lightning II joint strike fighter aircraft over Edwards Air Force Base. The two aircraft engaged in a series of electronic exchanges to ensure that communications and sensor information could be passed effectively between platforms.

F/A-18F Super Hornet your sure Jeff
That's what the official US Navy caption on the picture says. It is two seat, and from its size (as compared to the regular Hornet) it looks like a Super Hornet...but with the EW pods it looks more like a Growler

I agree that it is carrying all of the EW Pods and looks like an EA-18G Growler...and surely is one.

But the official US Navy caption called it an F/A-18F.

Seems they made a mistake.

Well EA-18G is derived from F/A-18F only different for electronic, no guns, to recognize pods ofc but also satellite antenna
before the vertical fins, good performance having successfully replaced three crew members necessary on EA-6B for use EW system by one !

Very good aircraft, in more in the time and in the price, only one things its range a little short.

There's been here this discussion about "alternatives to" F-35, so let's see them :)
