Back to the F-22P, and apologies in advance for a stupid question.

What exactly is PN's F-22P strategy vis-a-vis India Navy? The class isn't all that strong on ASW, and is almost helpless against the kinds of aircraft Indian Navy and AF could bring to bear. Why not go with more specialized ships for ASW and for AAW.

Basically if there's a another conflict between India and Pakistan, the Indian Navy will try to blockade the Pakistani Ports to starve Pakistan of resources so the Pakistani navy's job will be to break that blockade.

Since the Indians aren't suicidal it will be a distant blockade so Pakistan needs something bigger than patrol craft and missile boats to engage the enemy.

Pakistan has only about 1000km of coastline so they don't need a huge navy with diverse specialised ship types, general purpose types gives flexibility.

Great summary, asif iqbal, very informative. What about mine/counter-mine warfare?

Blackstone, you seem to ask a lot of questions that can be discovered rather easily.

MCM is typically conducted by ships dedicated for that kind of role. You certainly can't expect a frigate to do that.

Can anyone provide a list of "before and after" for the Jianghu-III that were refitted for export to Bangladesh?

I saw some picture thumbnails at BDMiliary forum, but when I click on them it said bandwidth exceeded. :(

I am not sure about the exact SSM type (YJ-81, 82 or 83, probably one of the older models), but numbers are correct.

I wonder if 053H2G have any HQ-61 embarked, or if the missile has been withdrawn from service (the Army retired its single HQ-61A battalion in 2010).
