The article is rather cryptic. The only known Northrop product that facilitates 5th to 4th communication is the Freedom 550.

This product is publicly known for years except traction for it has remained non committal by the USAF. I don't understand the secrecy surrounding any standing up of such a gateway. In recent years, other solutions had been tested regarding 5th to 4th communications using BACN multi gateway and the U-2/Einstein (EMC2) box if stealth is a must.

The classification of the site led me to think of what are they trying to achieve with the 5th to 4th gear. The only logical conclusion I can think of is the site may possibly be located inside Syria. The MADL link has line of sight limitation. If the intention is to test out the F-35 MADL 5th to 4th com, an activated site would act as the relay node between the F-35s and non MADL air assets. Given the LOS limitation, the choice of site location narrows down.

Yep, but its actually all GOOD!, make that very Good, the concentration on bringing the Raptors back up to speed is a "sea change" from the Obama years where literally everything went to "wrack and ruin", now the Raptor's are being given the attention that has resulted in very low mission capable rates,,, now to be honest,,,,, 80% is dreaming, F-16's, F-35's, F-15's, F-18's no way Jose!

Well, as I'm overlooking the water at Panama City Beach. No Helo's No F-22s, they are all gone!
