’s An-70 tactical transport to enter series production for the nation’s air force, 20 years after the company’s first prototype took to the air. Confirmation of the move came during an event at Antonov’s facilities on 22 January, and followed a deal signed on 13 January.

“Adoption of the An−70 allows starting up this aircraft serial production and developing its different modifications,” says Antonov.

Kiev’s approval follows a flight test campaign launched in 2012, which was required to gain approvals for a major upgrade including the integration of modern avionics equipment and improvements to its Ivchenko-Progress D27 propfan engines, which drive counter-rotating propellers. Completed last year, this activity was conducted using Antonov’s one flying example, which was built in 1996.

Finland is struggling to meet its operational requirements. The Finnish Army Air Wing has huge problems keeping its NHIndustries NH90s airborne, undermining both tasks at home as well as its air commitment to the European Union’s rapid reaction Nordic Battle Group.

Doesn't come as a surprise because they also have problems with the composite parts in travelling compartment floor what is not very durable... Patria solved issue with simple plywood coverings. These choppers were roughly 10 year late.

UH-60 would have been most likely better choice because it performed well in FDF tests back in the day.

Naval Today said:
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. is being awarded a $35,6 million delivery order to complete a Joint Strike Missile (JSM) risk reduction and integration study of the F-35 Air System for the Government of Norway.

The objectives of the study are to further mature JSM weapon design and to ensure compatibility of the weapon with the F-35.

Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (50 percent) and Kongsberg, Norway (50 percent), and is expected to be completed in March 2018.

International partner funds in the amount of $10 million are being obligated on this award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

This is good news. I expect that the JSM will be an excellent weapon for the JSF. I hope other nations pick it up as well in NATO and elsewhere...including the US.
