Spanish Army acquires 20 Sig Sauer MCX submachine guns for €271K​

on November 2, 2023, the Spanish Army announced the purchase of 20 MCX submachine guns manufactured by the German company Sig Sauer. This acquisition, facilitated through the Directorate of Economic Management of the Naval Support Command, has a total value of €271,037, including taxes.

The contract for this procurement has been awarded to Viator Plus Ultra, a supplier of Sig Sauer firearms in Spain, among other brands. 271k euros per submachine gun? Does it comes with gold plated fire and forget guided bullets? Or am I missing something here??.. are submachine guns really that expensive per unit? I thought their price ranges would be $10k-40k range.

Danish frigate suffered multiple failures during an engagement against Houthi drones. Top general attempted to hide the information resulting in his dismissal.

From what I could gather, half the air bust 76mm rounds detonated prematurely and the ship was unable to launch its ESSM missiles due to a malfunction related to the interaction of its radar during and the Danish CMS during the engagement for roughly half an hour. According to Thales, the problem was not in the radar itself.

Fortunately for the ship, it had to deal with a single drone at a time.
