Hellenic Army to get 162 Bradley IFVs​

The Greek Army has selected a total of 164 M2A2 ODS-SAs, and is preparing to enter the "Bradley constellation" powerfully! Greek officers, accompanied by officials of the American Embassy, and officials of the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, inspected the available vehicles. Essentially a Joint Visual Inspection (JVI) took place between June 3 and 5 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. There the first 62 Bradleys were selected to be delivered to Greece as free aid through Excess Defense Articles (EDA).

Greek parliament approves purchase of 20 F-35​

Greece’s parliamentary armament committee approved four military procurement programs for the Air Force and Navy on Thursday, following a briefing by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias.

The programs include the acquisition of F-35 fighter jets, participation in the US Navy’s Constellation-class frigate program, procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for frigates, and engine inspections for two missile boats.

The Air Force will acquire twenty F-35 Block 4 fighter jets, known for their advanced stealth and combat capabilities, at a cost of 3.47 billion euros. This covers technical support, pilot and technician training, additional engines, and simulators to be based at the Andravida Air Base in the Peloponnese.

The Navy’s participation in the Constellation frigate program, estimated at €2 million, allows Greece to influence the design of these next-generation warships.

Additionally, the committee approved €40 million for four Camcopter S-100 UAVs for surveillance and reconnaissance missions on defence and intervention frigate (FDI) frigates.
Lastly, €16 million has been allocated for engine overhauls on the LASOS and KAVALOUDIS missile boats, ensuring their continued operational readiness.

These procurements await final approval from the Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) before contracts are signed by the General Directorate for Defense Investments and Armaments.
