This is the same warship whose helicopter obliterated a pirate skiff off Somalia in September 2013.

According to the Polish MOD, invitations to start technical dialogue were sent to several submarine builders in late 2014. The Polish MOD just announced that four companies answered the invitations: France's DCNS, German company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH, Kockums from Sweden (in partnership with government agency FMV Forsvarets Materielverk.) and Navantia of Spain.

Answers to the technical dialogue will help in defining requirement and moving forwards with the contracting process. The current goal is to close the dialogue phase in March and officially open the tender during the summer.

The trial, executed on 21 November 2013, consisted of four Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM) being directed by APAR to four targets. The trial was successful: all launched missiles performed a successful intercept. In the first part of the trial, a Banshee drone was eliminated by a missile launched by the new Royal Danish Navy Frigate HDMS Peter Willemoes (Iver Huitfeldt-class).

The army gets a new light machine gun (LMG), and the choice fell on the U.S. M60 E6 in caliber 7.62 mm from the company U.S. Ordnance.
The old LMG M/62 been developed for stationary battle where maskingeværets weight and balance is not as crucial as it is today, where the shooter has to bear arms and ammunition during long deployments walking in difficult terrain.

Several types of light machine guns in caliber 7.62 millimeter were evaluated prior to the ordering of the new LMG, and at the end in the final was finally chosen between HK121 and the winner M60 E6.
Experienced LMG-shooters who have previously been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq have tested the weapons with a focus on ergonomics, operation, accuracy, and integration with other soldier's equipment. It has among other things made ​​throughput of obstruction, response and acting courses, marching, field and garrison shifts and patrol duties.

It is also in the process of getting a reticle package for the new weapon. The aim is to increase the athlete's ability to observe, identify and increase the precision of the night and in conditions of reduced visibility due to fog or smoke. Aim funds will be thoroughly tested with LMG M60 E6 and expected to be delivered in 2015.

• Less recoil, which increases the athlete's ability to observe and correct for accuracy.
