If we trust this websites info, 14€ per hour is your average pay as a student doing the odd student's job once in a while here in Germany.

10€ is the minimum wage here in germany so could still be less than 14€ per hour stated.

Now I dont know how liberial science students do it, but if we imagine 14€ x 40 hours a week x 4 weeks a month I get 2240€ before taxes, but as an Engineering, Maths or Physics student you usally dont have the time to work 40 hours a week next to your studies and this Bafög (some government money you get for studies) some people get is no more than 700€ per month.

This money was barely enough before the crisis, dont know how to fare when energy is +100% up since December 2021 and food prices too. Most students relied on some money from the parents, but now even the parents struggles to find end's meet.

That is some smooth brain smart EU move I tell ya.

I have more than enough solar panels on my roof, so i don't worry about electricity that much.
I'm more worried about my winter gas bills the October bill will most likely be like that painting for meo_O.

I did bought an electric heater just in case they start rationing gas here in the Netherlands. The Germans they are fucked i just see that as a delayed pay back for stealing our bikes during ww2.

You might already know this but the heating function in compression-based air conditioners are significantly more energy efficient than resistance-based electric heaters, so use that first if you have both.

I'm also living in Germany (15 min bike ride from Scholz's office).

I got out and started buying up some fresh produce as soon as I saw that twitter feed of German farmers ready to join the strikes.

Just started getting ready to move to China in the fall, hopefully.

Talking about farmers, it’s hard to find news on the current Dutch farmers’ protests, which is causing food shortages in Netherlands and bringing the country down to its knees.

And the farmer troubles are spreading to other EU countries like Poland and Italy. Still, there seems to be a determined effort by mainstream to not report such news.

Yup, the massive farmer protest movement caught the elites off guard and they are determined to bring a media blackout for damage control.
