A little bit more on the German delegation trip to China. COSCO is approved to purchase 24.9% of the port despite the oppositions.

When it comes to the CTT, HHLA specified that COSCO will not have exclusive rights or access, but the terminal will remain open for all customers. HHLA also clarified that the EU did not object to this cooperation, considering that antitrust approval was granted. “HHLA has not been given any objective reasons that would speak against approving the investment.”
The idea is for COSCO to help with remodeling of CTT in order to make it more efficient for intermodal transportation.

Yes the US is shrinking the pie not making it bigger for all its allies. You better believe they went along solely because they thought China would surrender unconditionally thus China would be cut-up and served to all US allies that went along. They actually believed in their own lies about how China couldn't do anything without them thus surrender would be quick and any losses in the short term would be an after thought after they essentially get to enslave the Chinese people for their own enrichment. Problem is China isn't surrendering. Their losses are exponentially increasing. The Western alliance is an alliance of countries that have nothing of their own hence why they have to be in an alliance to get what they want from the rest of the world. Their supply chains run through other countries around the world. Those countries make more money with China around not the fantasy of the West thinking everyone likes it better when they can dictate prices by being the only power in town. It's the same bizarro logic Obama had smearing AIIB where he believed countries wanted more restrictions than what China was offering with infrastructure loans. Look at how the US is taking advantage gouging energy prices to Europe. That's what they do to their friends... And they believe they would be a benevolent dictator to the Chinese...? Time isn't running out for China. Time is running out for the Western alliance.

Could selling Hamburg to cosco be one aspect of retaliation from Scholz over US bombing of nord stream?

Scholz started making statements about how Germany shouldn't decouple from China soon after the incident, and the US seems to be using its NGO/media outlets to attack Scholz over it

He obviously realised what shitshow europe is and given the facts that trade and future of China is in more benign environment he chose to poke amercia with the China card, not even hoping for concessions from washington anymore, olaf has only China in his head right now.

Yes, I reckon that's part of it. Also this happened yesterday:

Imagine you're Japan and South Korea and you're already really butthurt about US forcing you to join the CHIP 4 so you're losing out on all that RMB, then you see this news and US isn't even saying anything to Scholz, how would you feel?

The way this is going Scholz is going to get the VVIP treatment when he visits China.

Also probably why the Chinese Foreign ministry didn't respond to Germany's announcement they'll be visiting for many weeks until recently. Speculation is China was waiting for positive news of this chip plant takeover and the Hamburg port. Germany needs China not the other way.

looks like EU gas prices are down, seems like a mild winter so far. But is it sustainable? also Is it low because industries that are gas dependent have closed shop?
i don’t really understand how LNG pricing works but if it’s more expensive too but it from the US, why is the spot price back to pre war levels? Can someone with more knowledge than me exploration how it works?

Have no idea either but I have some ideas. It might have something with the LNG price caps imposed by the EU. If that's the case it's not sustainable. Then again, it could also be fake news or some doctoring like how inflation numbers are calculated or the definition of recession got changed by the US government. Regardless, winter has yet to begin as it officially starts on Dec 21st. Time will tell what's what.
