Just watched this jimmydore video and that C14 fascist guy was talking about a grand coalition of the UK, Poland, Ukraine and Turkey. Knowing my geography it looks lot like a containment policy for western EU to keep them forming a land bridge with Eurasia.

Seems like Russia is doing western EU a favor by splitting up Ukraine.

I wonder how much the cost of food and energy would increase. I filled up my car yesterday and it cost me $50 which is twice as much as I paid last year. My electricity bill has doubled. My spending on food also doubled. Of course, the inflation number doesn't reflect such things.

, the EU was paying as much as 660 million euros—roughly $722 million—a day to Russia, according to the Bruegel think tank. That is triple the level before Russia invaded Ukraine.

Any new LNG cargoes will come with a much higher price tag than piped Russian gas, threatening a European economy already struggling with inflation. Filling up enough gas in European storage ahead of next winter would cost at least 70 billion euros at current prices, compared with 12 billion euros in previous years, Bruegel says.

60-70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck yet so many them including the neocon Biden Admin / Wealthy Dems telling everyone else they will need to sacrifice a “little.”

The biggest concern I see is the next winter season. So many seniors and low income are going to be forced to decide between food or heating.

Now this does present an interesting issue. Trump is more then likely to come back in 2024. Will he start another trade war? Probably.

The U.S political elite have this nasty habit of associate themselves with the worst people in this planet while at the same time pointing fingers to others.

What do you guys think about the US trade war now?

I believe the silver lining of this war is going to force Biden to drop some or most of the inflationary tariffs on Chinese imports.

Win-win?

The Neocons will stuff a 10 foot wooden stake up the average joe ass before they even consider dropping tariffs.

Plus there is a lot of economic damage with higher oil prices. The US needs tax revenue and tariffs will help gives a small cash pile. Dumping tariffs will also be politically damaging to the current admin due to the current circumstances.

Support for IT industry in Russia

- Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures to accelerate the development of the IT industry in the country. In particular, it is planned to simplify the procedure for employment of foreigners and obtaining a residence permit for them.
- In accordance with a presidential decree, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced new benefits: domestic IT companies will be exempt for three years from paying income tax, as well as inspections, they will be able to take loans at a rate of no more than 3%, industry employees will be able to obtain a preferential mortgage and deferral from military conscription for the duration of work.

This looks similar to Chinese tax exemption to boost semi industry.

The West hides behind human rights and freedom as an excuse to do anything they want. If it were the US's Asian allies 40% dependent on Russian gas and oil, does anyone think the US would hesitate sanctioning Russian energy sources? I always hear US pundits call Russia a glorified gas station. Aren't they suppose to hit them where it hurts?

Investors face deep losses on $170bn in Russian assets

Pension plans and hedge funds among big asset managers that have begun writing down value of their holdings

The West rushed to impose sanctions in the heat of the moment without knowing the unintended consequences and with the interconnection of the financial system, a small default could turn into a full-blown financial crisis if not carefully monitored. They should have waited until they carefully assessed Russians assets.
