I don’t think we should take a Biden win for granted just yet. It is telling that Trump has not conceded, and the Republicans as a whole are awfully quiet.
All of Trump’s lawsuits are just a waste of time. They cannot un-ring the bell. Trump’s lawsuits were dead in the water when they failed to get counts stopped.
Where Trump’s legal strategy failed is that it was too predictable and the Democrats were ready and waiting to stop any and all attempts to stop counts.
What these lawsuits are designed to do now is buy Trump time to decide it he wants to go for a hell merry and hope he could win power through violence on the streets.
It sounds far fetched, but then Trump have never been conventional. If he was serious about a 2025 run, he should have conceded already as the longer he holds out, the more damaging it is for his future presidential bid.
I think this is where the Democrats have overplayed their hand with the whole Mueller investigation and tax returns attacks.
I think Trump is genuinely scared that once he relinquishes power, that the Democrats will find a way to lock him up, and/or Epstein him. So it’s meaningless to tell him he will be the front runner in 4 years time if he doesn’t think he will be around to run in 4 years if he concedes now.
I think it is also interesting that neither Putin or Xi have as yet congratulated Biden on his win.
The odds are that Trump caves and hopes for the best, but there is still a non-zero chance he might do what he has always done - rip up the playbook when things don’t go his way and use raw power to get what he wants.
The key to a Trump coup would be to either get the US military on side, or at least keep them neutral and out of the fight. If it’s just down to his gun loving supporters against the pacifist woke left, it will be a turkey shoot (which is ironic as this might all kick off around thanksgiving).
