I disagree that Biden seems ready to dive deep into lefty Bernie style. Biden voted for Iraq war, wrote the 1994 crime bill, voted for TPP outsourcing deals, is against Medicare for all, against a minimum $15 wage, against packing the Supreme court, and is even against like major police reform. Biden is a moderate Republican or a "Diet" Republican in terms of his policies.
Problem is I seriously doubt he remembers, or if he still even has the energy to fight for these ideals that are contrary to the direction the Dems are running towards. The way things stand the Dems keep the House and are on track to win the Senate - you think Biden has what it takes to push his agenda through "Take No Prisoner" Pelosi in the House and "Can't Make Up My Mind" Harris running the Senate?

Even if Sanders convinces Biden to go full-scale Medicare for All, because the conservative 6-3 majority in Supreme Court, they can declare anything the liberal democrats want to do to be "Unconstitutional" and veto it. You don't have to worry about the socialist agenda taking over, it will get challenged in court and eventually struck down by the conservative Supreme court.

That's why I really support expanding/packing the Supreme court :) Biden won't do it though, which is SUPER disappointing.

Just remember. I dont have a dog in this fight. If I did. I wouldn't vote for that misogynist racist orange man. I wouldn't be seen dead standing next to all those "good gun wieding racist trump supporters".

The only reason I'm quietly wishing for a Trump win. It's because he will hasten US declined and therefore China's peaceful rise.

His disastrously trade war. His antagonizing of allies and foes alike. He will get the US isolated and dislike even more. Just look at his antics at the UN. All these can only be good for China.

Dislike Trump yes, but not enough to severe treaty alliances or withdraw US troop bases... If Trump can antagonize allies enough to break up NATO or US-KOR/JPN alliances, by all means, HELL YES, even if China takes a massive hit in sanctions. But is the sanctions worth it if it's just "like/dislike" game? I think that's marginal benefits for declining US likeability but big sanction hits on China.

That'll destroy the effectiveness of judicial review going forward (regardless who controls the legislative and executive branch), undermining the judicial branch's purpose of checking government power. In that case it wouldn't matter if the SCOTUS opposes the political ideology of whoever occupies in the White House, the incumbent President just needs to appoint more Justices to tip things back in their favor - There's a reason why Justices are lifetime appointments, and why their hearings are so scrutinized.

Despite the SCOTUS being primarily conservative, they did throw out major legislation proposed by the Republicans like the Muslim-ban as well as Trump's latest attempt of throwing out mail in votes in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
