It's almost desperate.

I cannot see a way US comes out ahead unless they open the floodgates to immigration and give all foreign students green card/US citizenship upon graduation.

If they can add 100 million talent in the next 20 years, US can still win. Asylum seekers and, as LKY termed, "fruit pickers", will result in the opposite effect though.

But will white people allow it?

With COVID ushering in permanent work from home and remote VPN workers... does it really matter if a company's employees are in the same town, state or even country?

US can simply hire bunch of remote workers, cherry pick the most talented ones, pay them a lot of money via quantitative easing dollar status etc, and then NOT give them a VISA or citizenship or anything of that sort... would be a best of all worlds where they get the talent but don't have to suffer the long term consequences of immigration etc

They wouldn't even have to issue these workers laptops or worry about stealing secrets etc... just do full on VDI where they connect via the browser (not even have to install a citrix/vmware/etc thinclient anymore) so the data always resides in the US, there is never a chance of any breach and can use AI software to detect any abnormal behavior etc etc... so the whole "you need a US top secret clearance" is really bogus in the 21st century, just have VDI connection to everything and use AI software to monitor all workers 24/7/365

If US adopts this, China would be at disadvantage because China cannot print dollars to pay high wages since no petrodollar hegemony in its favor

Yeah, it is.

The American economy cannot compete with the Chinese economy.

No matter what happens, or what America tries to do to derail the Chinese economy, China races ahead. Not even a pandemic can stop China from growing its economy.

Americans, who own the media, are very good at avoiding stuff they do not want to talk about. They are very good at pretending all will be fine and America will prevail.

Life is not like that, some times it can be cruel.

But that is their problem now.

That is sound reasoning comrade.

But ... one detail ...

It what comrade localizer likes to post from time to time. The value of the USD/CNY.

That will only work, when the USD is able to retain it value and people have confidence in it maintaining it status as a store of value.

As we know, the QE has not let up, and the socialist are in power, Congress, Senate, President. It is unlikely that when the day is over, and they go home from work, they would turn off the lights, but they would not turn off the printing presses.

People probably unwilling to work for Monopoly Money.

If President Trump was still here, he will convinced us that Monopoly Money freshly printed by Jerome is the best money in the world!

I miss President Trump so much!

People like USD because they want to live in the US or buy US tech/investments.

But if US doesn't let people come and restricts tech sales/investments, especially their biggest USD holder China, why would Chinese need USD?

Democrats have been traditionally protectionist, but ok on immigration.

But Americans nowadays are less receptive to immigration, left and right. Biden seems to be lowkey onboard with MAGA as well.

Well China already determined to be independent on semiconductors and aerospace at least. Even if US relaxes restrictions it won't change the overall focus of the next decade.
@localizer

It is a crazy and looney strategy (due to being arrogant cloud their judgment) and the American knew the result after the CNC and Satellite embargo debacle. They are enabling the Chinese, After the Chinese gain the expertise then the restriction will be lifted, what for, you already lost your biggest customer and become your greatest competitor. If i owned corporate American I will not ask the resignation but put in jailed the person who recommend such strategy for endangering National security.

Yeh the older we get the more challenges we face and realize that tremendous opportunities arise from failures/difficulties.

Sometimes you need that extra push to get you out of your comfort zone so you don't end up like those oil rich arab nations with nothing other than oil wealth.

All I see is a big show for domestic audiences Biden is putting on. There are only two things Biden can do more than Trump. Completely end diplomatic and economic relations with China or start a war with China. I can go through how that would be all bad news for the US but I will simply put it down to the US wants to control China for cultural reasons especially religious. Cutting off China means they have zero say or influence with China. It would be like an annoying itch deep under their skin that simple scratching does nothing to alleviate it. If war was that easy the US would've taken on North Korea. China would be far worse for the US. Right now it's a lot of posturing and bluffing.

Exactly.

That takes the words right outta my mouth.

However, there probably is something more important to consider at the moment.

Timing is everything in life. Right time right place, makes all the difference. Wrong time wrong place, then we crap outta luck.

China is saying to America, here is the chance to revert Trump's policies. The economic tariffs must go, and the tech restrictions must be lifted.

Otherwise, we cannot do business as usual in future.

At the current moment, China is growing much faster than America. In the future, the Chinese economy will double in 10-15 years, and shortly afterwards be double the size of the American economy in real terms.

Do the Americans think Trump's daughter Ivanka, when she is president, will be in a stronger position to make a deal with China than today? Or next year, or the year after that?

Who is China's biggest trading partner, and who is the second largest? Both are still growing in trade volume. Neither are America. America is shrinking as far as China is concerned. Those are the numbers.

The time is now for the Americans to make a deal with China.

If they don't China will forget about them, no pointing in wasting more time.
