That fast? I thought we're going to wait for at least a month or so before her 2nd sea trial.

Probably just a short sail to test the adjustments/calibration to onboard systems after the last sea trial.

To be fair the ship spent a decent amount of time in fitting out after launch and before the first sea trial, so it's possible it is in a relatively high state of completion.

It'll be interesting to see how things go after the second sea trial, because we will probably have a better indicator of how successful everything is.

Aircraft carriers are military equipment with special strategic significance. Everybody know what it means when they see a CSG on the sea or on the media. It is inevitable to put CV18 into service as soon as possible and demonstrate its combat capabilities while taking into account current complex international environment. I would not be surprised even if the sea trial period is quitely short or there are any other key scenes published officially in the following sea trials.

Generally speaking i would agree with you however for the better part of the last 10 years I have not really seen Liaoning & Shandong fully deployed operationally in a strategic role.
Perhaps things may change when this one joins the fleet. We'll just gave to wait and see

Looks like there's no aircraft mock-ups visible - doesn't mean it's definitely not onboard though.

*edit: I say this because there were mock-ups seen in the morning right before the departure.

The last position of the KJ-600 mockup was right next to the island and the J-35 one was very close by. Both may be obscured from view in these images. Thats in addition of the images themselves being rather blurry.
