A satellite image update. Much of the deck has by now been covered with anti-slip coating, except for a small area indicated by the orange anti-rust primer.

Uh, the ship is already back in the water, as per the video from CCTV Feb 3 above

If you are talking about the video in this post (CV-18 Fujian/003 CATOBAR carrier thread), they are including pictures of the ship taken during the transfer from pierside to drydock one month ago.

CV-18 remains in drydock, and it is always important to check when imagery/video footage being released, was actually taken.

Happy Chinese New Year, a 9 days holiday will leave nobody at shipyard.

For the shipyard business, it’s not just 9 days. Because lots of workers come from different provinces, they will go back hometown and stay till the Lantern Festival, 15 days after CNY. Normally, the shipyard will be suspended for nearly 3 weeks.

I remembered that during the previous 2 years New Year Holidays, there were still some workers working at the shipyard.

From the late January till now, by the satellite photos, I find that the coating of the flight deck are slowing but still continue.

Another possible reason is the weather conditions, with Shanghai experiencing very cold, rainy and snowy weather for almost the entire month of January. This maybe impacts the Coating process.
